Enemy or FriendAnother Example of Capitalism as a Failed System: World Capilalism Was Aware of the Danger of Cornovavirus Threat Over 5 Years Ago and Did Nothing!:  Under Capitalism — Human Lives Don’t Matter  Capitalism Does Not, and Never Has, Worked for the Masses! In Its Death Agony, Capitalism Is Traveling About The World Like The Four Horsemen of the The Apocalypse, Spreading  Racism,  War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death. The future of Humanity Is Now At stake! The future of Humanity Is Now At stake! Since World War I, ‘the war to end all wars’, there have been perpetual wars for perpetual peace, this Laura Gray’s cartoon from the front page of The Militant August 18, 1945, Under the Banner Headline: “There Is No Peace”Due to Years of Austerity, Cuts to Public Health Care, And An Anti-Science and Profiteering President, The United States Now Leads the World In  Coronavirus Cases and Deaths in the World!
Always Remember:  That President Obama, With a Majority Democrat Legislature Supported the Wall Street Bailout and Remember, That he Established, in writing,  the United States Capitalist Austerity Program. —  The Race to the Bottom/Pauperization of the 99%!
Democracy?: As the Capitalist Robber Barons Steal from the 99%,  Only the 1% Voted For Austerity!   The 99% Should Decide On Austerity — Not Just The 1% Who, Profit From Austerity!!  Under Austerity, All of the World Will Eventually Be Pauperized, Humbled, and Desecrated Like Greece and Puerto Rico.!   Socialism Means True Democracy, that the 99% Will Rule, Not the Few!
Quotes of the Day:
For decades, billionaires and corporations have created organizations and disinformation networks explicitly designed to wage war on the science that links carbon emissions to climate disruption. Now those same networks are being used to spread doubt and disinformation about COVID-19 and vaccines, and the consequences are proving deadly. — This Is Why Climate Science Deniers Also Spread COVID-19 Disinformation

United States:
The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through. their ownership of the Reublicrats, who profit from war and the war budget, voted for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a  Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War!  Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! Every ‘Tax. Reform’ From President Kennedy has Been an incrase in taxes from the Poor, the Woking Class, and the Middle Class, to the Rich! —The United States takes from the poor and gives to the Rich.  Tax the Rich!  — They Can Afford To Pay!
As of today, a total of over 684,063 people have died, in the United States, due to coronavirus.
Just before the 2000 Presidential Election, in September 2000, George Bush’s think tank, The Project for the New American Century, put into writing a document titled Rebuilding America’s Defenses, Forces and Resources For a New Century. In that document they called for war upon Iraq, a US military presence in the middle east, and the construction of military bases throughout Asia and the world to enforce, what they termed, as a ‘strategic goal’, the preservation Pax Americana — the ‘new world order’ that was proclaimed after the first Gulf War.      There has been no objection or opposition, from the Democratic Party, to this ‘strategic goal’ for this century, even though the document stated, two years prior to 9/11:     A transformation strategy that solely pursued capabilities for projecting force from the United States, for example, and sacrificed forward basing and presence, would be at odds with larger American policy goals and would trouble American allies. Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor. — Pax Americana and The Failure of ‘Lesser Evilism’
The CIA Saw a ‘Pearl Harbor Moment, Hence They Allowed 9-11 to ‘Happen’! :  FBI Agent: The CIA Could Have Stopped 9/11 UpdatedMark Rossini, a former FBI special agent at the center of an enduring mystery related to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, says he is “appalled” by the newly declassified statements by former CIA Director George Tenet defending the spy agency’s efforts to detect and stop the plot.     Rossini, who was assigned to the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center (CTC) at the time of the attacks, has long maintained that the U.S. government has covered up secret relations between the spy agency and Saudi individuals who may have abetted the plot. Fifteen of the 19 hijackers who flew commercial airliners into the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon, and a failed effort to crash into the U.S. Capitol, were Saudis.     A heavily redacted 2005 CIA inspector general’s report, parts of which had previously been released, was further declassified earlier this month. It found that agency investigators “encountered no evidence” that the government of Saudi Arabia “knowingly and willingly supported” Al-Qaeda terrorists. It added that some CIA officers had “speculated” that “dissident sympathizers within the government” may have supported Osama bin Laden but that “the reporting was too sparse to determine with any accuracy such support.” The Dangerous Exaggeration of the Threat Threat perception is central to decision making regarding war and the use of force; alliance politics; and the role of deterrence.  Exaggerations of threat make war more likely and  weaken the ability of an alliance to function effectively and rationally.  Since the end of World War II, the United States has consistently exaggerated the threat, particularly with regard to the Soviet Union during the Cold War.  Once again, the United States is embarking on a campaign of exaggerated threat perception as politicians and pundits exaggerate the “threat” of a so-called “resurgent” Russia and a so-called “aggressive” China.Covid-19 Vaccine Makers Blasted for ‘Unconscionable Profits,’ Monopolies, and Low Taxes “Big Pharma’s business model—receive billions in public investments, charge exorbitant prices for lifesaving medicines, pay little tax—is gold dust for wealthy investors and corporate executives but devastating for global public health.”
The Moral Case for Resisting Evictions Amid a Pandemic In the so-called “Land of the Free,” so many of “the Brave” in the United States are the homeless. Over the past weeks, multiple crises have merged: a crisis of democracy with the most significant attack on voting rights since Reconstruction; a climate crisis with lives and livelihoods upended in the Gulf Coast and the Northeast by extreme weather events and in the West by a stunning fire season; and an economic crisis in which millions are being cut off from Pandemic Unemployment Insurance, even as August job gains proved underwhelming. There’s also a crisis taking place in state legislatures with an ongoing attack on women’s autonomy over our own bodies. The Supreme Court let a law go into effect that makes abortions nearly impossible in Texas and turns its enforcement over to vigilantes. And then, of course, there’s the looming eviction crisis that could precipitate the worst housing and homelessness disaster in American history.
So-Called Democratic “Moderates” Are Actually Right-Wingers Who Have Always Thrown Up Roadblocks to Social Progress The U.S. is the only liberal-democratic country in the world with a political system set up for two mainstream parties, a long and continuous history of union suppression, and without a major socialist party at the national level. How is it possible that the world’s largest economy has a crumbling  infrastructure (“shabby beyond belief”  is how the CEO of Legal & General, a multinational financial services and asset management company,  described it back in 2016), and ranks in the lower half of second tier countries, behind economic powerhouses Cyprus and Greece, on the 2020 Social Progress Index
Quick Guide: U.S. China Trade War Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of Taylor Swift’s new album and a thing or two about trade tensions between the U.S. and China. You see, these global superpowers have been at it for more than a year already, threatening and actually imposing tariffs at each other with hardly any endgame in sight.Guaranteeing the Perpetuation of the Pandemic!:  Over Half of States Have Rolled Back Public Health Powers During Pandemic Republican legislators in more than half of U.S. states, spurred on by voters angry about lockdowns and mask mandates, are taking away the powers state and local officials use to protect the public against infectious diseases. A KHN review of hundreds of pieces of legislation found that, in all 50 states, legislators have proposed bills to curb such public health powers since the covid-19 pandemic began. While some governors vetoed bills that passed, at least 26 states pushed through laws that permanently weaken government authority to protect public health. In three additional states, an executive order, ballot initiative or state Supreme Court ruling limited long-held public health powers. More bills are pending in a handful of states whose legislatures are still in session.
Biden Shouldn’t Reappoint Powell to Federal Reserve. He’s Soft on Wall Street. Under Trump, Jerome Powell supported rolling back several financial regulations put in place after the Great Recession. Economic observers commonly remark that the chair of the Federal Reserve System is the second most powerful person in Washington. Though probably an overstatement, this trope nonetheless reflects the fact that our central bank has an enormous impact on financial conditions not only in the United States but also, because of the key role of the U.S. dollar in global markets. That means the Fed can, for good or ill, impact economic growth, employment, wages, inflation and investment from Alabama to Azerbaijan. And, as the primary leader of such a powerful institution, the chair of the Fed holds the key to most of these policies.     The four-year term of the current chairperson, Jerome Powell, ends February 2022, and President Joe Biden must soon decide whether to reappoint him. Even under normal circumstances, this decision would be highly consequential. But now, the implications could be monumental.
Ten Years After Occupy Wall Street, Another World Is Still Possible Ten years after Occupy Wall Street embodied the hopes and outrage of people across the country, Kelly Hayes and labor journalist Sarah Jaffe talk about what we can learn from a moment that launched a new and unruly era of protest.
Environment:
Indigenous Actions Stop Billions of Tons 0f Emissions  The Indigenous Environmental Network and Oil Change International have released a new report, Indigenous Resistance Against Carbon, that analyzes the impact of Indigenous resistance on fossil fuel projects in the United States and Canada has had on greenhouse gas emissions over the past 10 years. From the struggle against the Cherry Point coal export terminal in Lummi territory to fights against pipelines crossing critical waterways, Indigenous land defenders have exercised their rights and responsibilities to not only stop fossil fuel projects in their tracks, but establish precedents to build successful social justice movements. Stopped or delayed projects equal 25% of US and Canadian emissionsToxic Tuesdays: Diesel  Diesel is a type of fuel that is refined from crude oil and biomass materials. Like all hydrocarbon fuels, diesel is detrimental to the environment and human health. However, diesel is a special offender because it emits essentially two different forms of pollutants. The first are harmful gases which include carbon dioxide, oxides, and polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) such as benzene and formaldehyde. The second are very small particles known as diesel particulate matter (DPM) or soot that consist of solid elemental carbon surrounded by PAHs and/or metals such as nickel and arsenic.         Because the combustion of diesel releases such a wide variety of harmful chemicals and DPMs, the potential health problems associated with it are many. Several of the PAHs released during diesel combustion have been identified as carcinogens on their own, such as benzene and its link to elevated levels of leukemia in exposed populations.      The DPM can potentially be even more dangerous.      These particles are incredibly small (2.5 microns or less), can be easily breathed in, and can lodge in the lungs for extended periods of time. T.    here, any harmful chemicals that are attached to them can continue to harm health and increase the risk of different types of cancers – especially lung cancer.      The DPM can also exacerbate chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma and lung disease. The dangers to human health from diesel exhaust are such that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified it as “carcinogenic to humans” in 2012 based on sufficient evidence that it is linked to an increased risk of lung cancer.     Exposure to diesel fumes is limited to diesel-using trucks, machinery, and equipment; making it relatively easy to avoid. Unfortunately, roughly 80% of all cargo in the US is transported by diesel engines and a large proportion of construction, agricultural, and marine equipment use it as their fuel source.     In Portland, OR, Neighbors for Clean Air (NCA) is tackling the problem of diesel pollution head on. Multnomah County in Portland is in the top 5 counties in terms of diesel pollution in the nation

Quietly, the Fed Has Seduced $1 Trillion a Day into the Best Game in Town – Its Reverse Repo Facility During the financial collapse of 2008, money market funds found themselves holding toxic paper that no one wanted to buy. In order to stop panic runs on money market funds, on September 19, 2008 the U.S. Treasury Department issued a statement indicating it would guarantee more than $3.5 trillion in money market funds. As COVID-19 concerns took root in March of last year and the stock market plunged, the Fed launched another bailout program for money market funds on March 18, 2020. The program was called the Money Market Mutual Fund Liquidity Facility (MMLF) and was run out of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.World:
El Salvador: Bukele’s Bitcoin Law is Rejected By the Masses! Last week, in a desperate gamble the Bukele government in El Salvador introduced a new Bitcoin Law that will make the volatile cryptocurrency legal tender in the Central American nation. The measure has been extremely unpopular and has met with all manner of technical and political problems. Since the first of these two articles was written, a massive protest of 10,000 people against the Bukele regime took place on 15 September, marking El Salvador’s 200 years of independence. The comrades from the Bloque Popular Juvenil (Salvadorean section of the IMT) participated actively.Education, Health, Science, and Welfare:
The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who pass universal healthcare for themselves, but cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! This is what is considered, by the powers to be,  a democracy and part of the democratic way. — Roland Sheppard, Let the People  Vote on Healthcare!
