The 1%’s Government: A Standing Ovation for Genocide

Since World War I, ‘the war to end all wars’, there have been perpetual wars for perpetual peace, this Laura Gray’s cartoon from the front page of The Militant August 18, 1945, Under the Banner Headline: “There Is No Peace”

Capitalism’s Gluttony is Demonstrated by It’s Quest for More and More Profits at the Expense of Humanity!     The Rise of Capitalism was Under the Banner of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity! Now There is  Less Liberty, More Inequality, and Less Fraternity of Humanity!   Every Day, From Global Warming to Global War There is a New Example of Capitalism in Imperialist Decay!  Capitalism as a Failed  System: World Capitalism Has Been Aware of the Comming Catastrophe of Global Warming  Over 6 Decades Ago and Did Nothing!:  Under Capitalism — Human Lives Don’t Matter  Capitalism Does Not, and Never Has, Worked for the Masses! In Its Death Agony, Capitalism Is Traveling About The World Like The Five Horsemen of the the Apocalypse, Spreading  Racism,  War, Famine, Pestilence, Death, and Misinformation! The very future of Humanity Is Now At stake!

During This Economic Crisis, Capitalism’s Three-Point Political Program: Austerity, Scapegoat Blacks, Minorities, and ‘Illegal’ Immigrants for Unemployment, and The Iron Heel!    For Decades, Blacks Have Been Subjected to The Iron Heel!   Currently, the US Capitalist Class is Divided Over When — Not If, to Apply It to Everyone! Globaly, With the Current Gaza War, The Right of Assembly is Under Attack! Due to Years of Austerity, Cuts to Public Health Care, And An Anti-Science and Profiteering President, The United States Still Leads the World In  Coronavirus Cases and Deaths in the World!

The Iron Heel

The Majority of the World, Despite the Media Monopoly’s Lies, are Opposed to the Palestinian Genocide and Global Warming — The 1% Minority Funds Them! At, this Time in History, Capitalism is Exposing the Fact That it is Opposed to Majority Rule/Democracy!

Always Remember:  That President Obama, With a Majority Democrat Legislature Supported the Wall Street Bailout and Remember, That he Established, in writing,  the United States Capitalist Austerity Program. —  The Race to the Bottom/Pauperization of the 99%!

Democracy?: As the Capitalist Robber Barons Steal from the 99%,  Only the 1% Voted For Austerity!   The 99% Should Decide On Austerity — Not Just The 1%, Who Profit From Austerity!!  Under Austerity, All of the World Will Eventually Be Pauperized, Humbled, and Desecrated Like Greece and Puerto Rico.!   Socialism Means True Democracy, that the 99% Will Rule, Not the Few!

Quotes of the Day:

Question of the Day!: Members of ‘The Squad’ Boycotted Netanyahu Speech to a Joint Session of the U.S. Congress, Claiming that  He was a War Criminal. Why didn’t ‘The Squad’ Take Advantage of the Opportunity and Step Forward to a Serve Netanyahu an ICC Arrest Warrant for Being a War Criminal?!

United States:

The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through their ownership of the Republicrats and who profit from war and the war budget, vote for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a  Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War!  Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! The United States takes from the poor and gives to the Rich. Tax the Rich!  — They Can Afford ford To Pay! Both Parties Support U.S. Capitalism’s Wars! (The Only War the Democrats Opposed was the Civil War!)

We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can’t have both. — Louis D. Brandeis Quotes/

The greatest purveyor of violence in the world : My own Government, I cannot be Silent. ― Martin Luther King Jr.

To this day, we have a government and state apparatus that is designed to “protect the minority of the opulent against the majority.” Democracy for white and wealthy men only! — Roland Sheppard, My Forefathers and The 1%’s Forefathers.

US Presidential Races Hide The Criminality Of The US Empire The thing I hate about western electoral politics in general and US presidential races in particular is that they take the focus off the depravity of the US-centralized empire itself, and run cover for its criminality. Netanyahu in Congress: the Crime Boss Fulminates, While His Accomplices Cheer I returned home from Wednesday’s anti-Netanyahu demonstration on Capitol Hill in time to watch the Israeli prime minister address a joint session of the U.S. Congress.  The vilest thing about the event was not the speech itself, which was predictably bloodthirsty and mendacious, but the reactions of the assembled Congresspeople.  Almost all of them stood and cheered lengthily while their invited guest smeared those protesting his appearance in the streets outside the Capitol as pro-Hamas “idiots” who “stand with rapists and murderers,” and whose protests are “paid for by Iran.”

Netanyahu Insulted and Smeared the Pro-Palestine Protest Movement. Congress Clapped. Organizers say attacks from the Israeli prime minister, who faces charges of war crimes, showed the strength of their movement as thousands of protesters gathered outside the Capitol, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint session of the U.S. Congress — and spent a significant portion of his hourlong speech attacking the U.S. pro-Palestinian protest movement with insults and misinformation.     The prime minister went after campus protesters, drawing a false equivalence between students calling on their schools to divest from Israel and antisemitic attacks. He went on to insult protesters’ geographical and historical knowledge of the region, in reference to the protest slogan “From the river to the sea,” and belittled the slogan “Gays for Gaza,” saying it was the same as “Chickens for KFC.”

Somewhere/Somehow the Truth May Show Up!: FBI Director Stirs Controversy With Trump Bullet Skepticism FBIDirector Christopher Wray kicked a hornet’s nest with remarks this week casting doubt on former President Trump’s claims that he was hit by a bullet in his July 13 assassination attempt.    Speaking before the House Judiciary Committee, Wray said that “with respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, that hit his ear.”

US Funded Palestinian Genocide:

Netanyahu Vows to “Finish the Job Faster” in Gaza If US Gives Him More Weapons It is one of the clearest statements from an official tying US military aid to Israel’s genocide yet.    In his speech to Congress on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a direct appeal to U.S. lawmakers to send Israel more weapons, vowing, chillingly, that the weapons shipments would enable Israel to “finish the job faster” in Gaza.    Netanyahu drew one of the clearest lines yet between the supply of U.S. weapons and Israel’s genocidal assault of Gaza, essentially straight out saying that the slaughter has been made possible by U.S. assistance — and that the speed of Israel’s genocide is scaled to how many U.S. weapons they receive.

Stalin’s Responsibility in the Creation of Israel and its Disastrous Consequences The Palestinian people were forcibly expelled from their homeland by Zionist armed militias in 1948, in an event which remains in their collective historical memory as the Nakba, or the Catastrophe. The Zionist project had always envisaged such a development, and all genuine revolutionary Communists had consistently been opposed to the Zionist ideology. Why then did Stalin abandon the position of one state for the two peoples, Palestinian and Jewish, and come out in support of partition in 1947, together with the subsequent setting up of a separate Jewish state? Lenin opposed the reactionary ideology of Zionism. He understood that the Zionist project could only be achieved at the expense of the Palestinian people. At the Second Congress of the Communist International in 1920, the Theses on the National and Colonial Questions, drafted by Lenin, stated: “The Zionists’ Palestine affair can be characterised as a gross example of the deception of the working classes of that oppressed nation by Entente imperialism and the bourgeoisie of the country in question pooling their efforts (in the same way that Zionism in general actually delivers the Arab working population of Palestine, where Jewish workers only form a minority, to exploitation by England, under the cloak of the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine).”   The question has to be asked, therefore, as to why Stalin adopted a position which was diametrically opposed to that of Lenin? Stalin actually played a key role in getting the infamous 1947 UN resolution that partitioned Palestine adopted with the required two-thirds majority of the UN Assembly.

Environmanet:

Fund Climate! — Not Genocide! One of Many Ways to Begin to End Global Warming: Expose ‘Greenwashing’ — Tax the Polluters 100%!  After World War II Rosa Luxenburg Coined the Slogan: ‘S0cialism or Barbaism’! Now the Slogan Should Be: ‘Ecosocialism or Ecocide’!

We Must Hold These Monsters to Account!

We’ve Now Reached the Point of Nor Return! We are on the Eve of Environmental Catastrophe! Capitalist Production/Destruction is Now an Immediate Threat to Life Itself! Climate Change is Not a ‘Potentially Existential Crisis’ — It is Now! There no Time for Reform/Gradual Change! But Ecosocialist Change!:

Revolutionary Change, Not Climate Change! The catastrophe of climate change is upon us. It is a potentially existential crisis, if not for our species as a whole, certainly for human civilization and life on Earth as we know it. The facts are as sobering as they are undeniable.      Although our planet has passed through eight cycles of warming and cooling over the last 800,000 years, most of this can be attributed to minor fluctuations in the Earth’s orbit, affecting the amount of solar energy absorbed. The most recent cycle of warming is different. Not only is it occurring at the fastest rate since the last Ice Age ended 11,700 years ago, but according to the IPCC: “Since systematic scientific assessments began in the 1970s, the influence of human activity on the warming of the climate system has evolved from theory to established fact.”    Most of the warming has occurred over the last 40 years, and the ten warmest years on record have all happened in the past decade. In fact, paleoclimate evidence shows that today’s warming is ten times faster than the average rate after a typical ice age. Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from human activities is increasing about 250 times faster than it did from natural sources after the last Ice Age. Atmospheric concentrations of CO2 are now at the highest levels in human history. Little wonder that heat-related mortality has increased by around 30% in the past 20 years—and worse is yet to come.     As billions around the world couldn’t help but notice, 2023 was the hottest year on record. According to NOAA, average global temperatures were 1.18 degrees Celsius, higher than any other year since records began in 1850. 2024 is set to surpass records yet again, with May of this year the twelfth straight hottest month on record.

Black Liberation/Civil Rights:

And Yet, He Qualified for Police Force: Deputy Accused of killing Sonya Massey was Discharged from Army for Serious Misconduct Sean Grayson, who is now charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey, was previously discharged from the U.S. Army for serious misconduct — and still hired at six police departments in Central Illinois.     Sean Grayson, the former Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy now charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey, was previously discharged from the U.S. Army for serious misconduct, military records show.  Grayson, who is white, was indicted by a grand jury in the July 6 death of Massey, who is Black. Ben Crump, the family’s attorney, said the U.S. Department of Justice has also opened an investigation into the incident, but the agency said in a statement that it is “assessing the circumstances” and following the criminal case.   Documents obtained from the Kincaid Police Department in Illinois, where Grayson worked previously, note that Grayson was discharged from the Army in 2016 from the Fort Riley Army installation in Kansas for “Misconduct (Serious Offense).” Army officials confirmed Grayson was a wheeled vehicle mechanic from May 2014 to February 2016 but declined to provide further details about his discharge.

Paris Olympics Slammed for Mass Displacement, Militarization and Greenwashing Protests highlighted the displacement of thousands of migrants, unhoused people and other vulnerable communities. Just hours before Friday’s opening ceremony for the 2024 Summer Olympics, a series of apparently coordinated arson attacks were reported on France’s high-speed rail network. No one has claimed responsibility yet. Before the games, protests highlighted the displacement of thousands of migrants, unhoused people and other vulnerable communities as “social cleansing.” We go to Paris for an update with Jules Boykoff, former professional soccer player, author and scholar focusing on the Olympic Games, and Paul Alauzy, Paris-based activist with the collective Revers de la Médaille (Other Side of the Medal). “We are not anti-Olympics,” says Alauzy. “You can support the games, but you need to know that they have a big social impact and they come with a cost. And they come with a cost of the lives of hundreds, thousands of people being mistreated.” We also discuss how Palestinian athletes are taking part in this year’s Olympics amid the Israeli war on Gaza, the health risks of competing during rising heat and COVID, the environmental impact of major sporting events and more.

The Crimes of Capitalists’ Settler Colonialism!:   Canada Owes First Nations Billions After Making ‘Mockery’ of Treaty Deal, Top Court Rules

Court urges federal and Ontario governments to make payouts after ‘dishonourably’ neglecting 174-year-old deal An “egregious” refusal by successive Canadian governments to honor a key treaty signed with Indigenous nations made a “mockery” of the deal and deprived generations of fair compensation for their resources, Canada’s top court has ruled.   But while the closely watched decision will likely yield billions in payouts, First Nation chiefs say the ruling adds yet another hurdle in the multi-decade battle for justice.

How Much Does United States Owe!: Genocide is ‘American as Apple Pie’!

Education, Health, and Welfare:

The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who, pass universal healthcare for themselves, but cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! This is what is considered, by the powers to be,  a democracy and part of the democratic way. — Roland Sheppard, Let the People  Vote on Healthcare

Lack of National Healthcare Caucuses Problems for All — To Have National Health Care the Trade Union Leadership Must Break, With Their Partnership with the Employers and the Democratic Party, and Start to Build a Works’ Political Party!:     I Work for the US’s Largest Union. Why Would It Hold My Health Care Hostage? The National Education Association has been using its employees’ health insurance as a bludgeon at the bargaining table. On July 23, I had a critical appointment with my nephrologist to discuss how long I can delay my next kidney infusion without dying. Together we made the extremely painful decision to wait to schedule my needed treatment until my employer stopped threatening to cut off my health care.     You see, I have a rare autoimmune disorder that attacks my kidneys. Without regular treatment, my kidneys simply don’t work. I am not ashamed of having a disability. I’m grateful to my doctors who diagnosed me, a 30-year-old with a sudden onslaught of strange and scary symptoms, and saved my life.   But today, I am deeply ashamed of my employer, the National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest union, which told me and more than 300 of my colleagues — my siblings in NEA’s staff union — that it would cut off our health insurance on July 31. As of today — likely thanks to public pressure, including an awareness of the impending publication of this op-ed in Truthout and the publication this morning of an article in KFF Health News — NEA management has started sending mixed messages through statements to the press. Regardless of how this plays out, NEA’s attempt to use my disability as a bludgeon at the bargaining table sets has been a betrayal of the core values I thought we all shared.
