In the present period of unfettered Capitalism, the pretense of democratic rule does not exist, except in the minds of ‘socialists’ like Bernie Sanders and the Labor Bureaucracy! Capitalists view all struggles as struggles against capitalist rule! Transition demands immediately become revolutionary demands! Therefore, any resistence to the attack of capitalists has to be organized by those that understand this!

Middle East Crisis Live: Hamas Political Leader Ismail Haniyeh Killed in Tehran as Iran Vows ‘Revenge’ Iran’s Supreme Leader said avenging Haniyeh’s death was ‘Tehran’s duty’. Israel has yet to comment Avenging Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination is “Tehran’s duty” because it occurred in the Iranian capital, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday. According to Reuters, Khamenei said Israel had provided the grounds for “harsh punishment” for itself. “We consider his revenge as our duty,” he said. There has been no immediate comment from Israel on the strike, which took place hours after Haniyeh attended the inauguration ceremony for Iran’s new president.
Patrick Lawrence: Netanyahu Goes for Broke It is a matter of record that the Zionist project has had extensive territorial designs on the lands known as Palestine since at least the early 20th century. As others have argued, the Israelis’ openly racist assault on the Palestinians of Gaza is to be understood not as a sudden eruption of violence, a departure, but as an especially savage continuation of Zionist conduct for more than a century. When history is brought to bear in this fashion, it becomes increasingly apparent that the invasion of Gaza since the events of last Oct. 7 ought not be seen in isolation. The more pathologically disturbed members of Benjamin Netanyahu’s freak-show regime — notably, but not only, Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben–Givr, the finance and national security ministers — have never been shy on this point. They are entirely dedicated to the restoration of Eretz Yisrael, the mystical Land of Israel, which, variously interpreted through the ages, could extend at the extreme from the Red Sea all the way to the Euphrates Valley.
Quotes of the Day:
“Hitler’s rise was abetted by some of America’s most powerful corporations and businesses,” Gar Smith wrote about David Swanson’s book, Leaving World War II Behind. “The U.S. ignored Japan’s repeated offers to surrender in order to demonstrate the power of its new nuclear weapons.” Wars are no longer waged for territory, Swanson notes: “they’re waged for weapons sales, fossil fuels, lusts for power, and bragging rights.’ ” In fact, there was much history that I had to learn at home because my public school refused to teach it in a meaningful way. Included in that were the reasons for the rise of Hitler and Nazism, the horrors of the Holocaust, the cruelty of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, the history of slavery in America, the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement, the obstacles faced by the Suffrage Movement, the history of Indigenous Peoples, and much more. These histories were marginalized in public school, just brushed over or ignored completely. I was lied to.— Give Them the World
Let’s start with capitalism. It’s often portrayed as if it were some kind of natural law, a basic property of human relations. It is nothing of the kind. Capitalism is a very particular form of economic organisation, which, following the work of the geographer Jason Moore, we date to the island of Madeira in roughly 1450. This was arguably the first time and place in which land, labour and money were simultaneously commodified. The success of the Portuguese colonists, the first capitalists, set in train a particular mode of extreme and rapid exploitation, which led simultaneously to the explosion of colonial seizure and to the cascading collapse of ecosystems. We define capitalism as follows:“Capitalism is an economic system founded on colonial looting. It operates on a constantly shifting and self-consuming frontier, on which both state and powerful private interests use their laws, backed by the threat of violence, to turn shared resources into exclusive property, and to transform natural wealth, labour and money into commodities that can be accumulated.” — George Monbiot, How to Change Everything

United States:
The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through their ownership of the Republicrats and who profit from war and the war budget, vote for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War! Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! The United States takes from the poor and gives to the Rich. Tax the Rich! — They Can Afford ford To Pay! Both Parties Support U.S. Capitalism’s Wars! (The Only War the Democrats Opposed was the Civil War!)
We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can’t have both. — Louis D. Brandeis Quotes/
The greatest purveyor of violence in the world : My own Government, I cannot be Silent. ― Martin Luther King Jr.
To this day, we have a government and state apparatus that is designed to “protect the minority of the opulent against the majority.” Democracy for white and wealthy men only! — Roland Sheppard, My Forefathers and The 1%’s Forefathers.
The ADA Isn’t Enough: During A Mass Disabling Event, Workers Need Unions “ The number of disabled working-age people in the US has increased since the pandemic began, though the scope of Long COVID’s contribution is not entirely clear.” This year marks the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the landmark civil rights legislation that sought to prohibit discrimination against disabled people in employment and public services. It is also the fifth year of a pandemic that experts have deemed a mass-disabling event. Many of those infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, continue to experience symptoms for months or years. A new report from the National Academiesdefines Long COVID as “an infection-associated chronic condition (IACC) that occurs after SARS-CoV-2 infection and is present for at least three months as a continuous, relapsing and remitting, or progressive disease state that affects one or more organ systems.” Long COVID may affect between ten and thirty percent of those who have had COVID-19. The number of disabled working-age people in the US has increased since the pandemic began, though the scope of Long COVID’s contribution is not entirely clear. Studies suggest that Long COVID may impose a sizeable work burden and play an underappreciated role in keeping people out of the labor market. It remains to be seen how many of those with Long COVID will recover, to what extent, and what effect future waves may have. However, some health experts have expressed concern that the ongoing and now largely unmitigated spread of COVID-19 risks disabling a substantial portion of the workforce.
US Funded Palestinian Genocide:
Netanyahu Accused of Sabotaging Cease-Fire Talks With Assassination of Hamas Leader “Netanyahu isn’t playing chicken, he wants to crash the car,” said one observer. The political leader of Hamas was assassinated early Wednesday in what the group said was an Israeli attack on his residence in the Iranian capital of Tehran, which he was visiting to attend the inauguration of the country’s newly elected president. The killing of Ismail Haniyeh, who became the head of Hamas’ political arm in 2017, sparked warnings that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing all he can to undermine cease-fire talks with the Palestinian group after they showed signs of progress in recent weeks.
U.S. Poured Billions of Military Aid Into Lebanon. Now Israel Threatens to Invade. The U.S. is warning Israel against launching all-out war on Hezbollah — while continuing to send Israel unconditional military aid. Attacks between israel and Hezbollah, the militia and political party based just across Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, are fueling fears that a wider regional conflict may erupt any day. Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Shia group loosely allied with Hamas, has been in a low-level war with Israel since the conflict in Gaza began last October. Hezbollah, which is believed to have an arsenal of more than 150,000 rockets and missiles, has repeatedly emphasized that attacks will continue as long as the war persists. Over the weekend, a rocket attack that the U.S. and Israel said originated in Lebanon killed at least 12 civilians in the Israel-controlled Golan Heights. The Israeli foreign minister said that the attack “crossed all red lines,” and said “the moment of all-out war against Hezbollah and Lebanon” is approaching. Hezbollah denied responsibility for the strike. On Monday, Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken cautioned Israeli President Isaac Herzog about ramping up its war with Hezbollah in response on a call, according to State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller. But the conflict has been escalating for weeks. Israel has increased airstrikes aimed at the group. Current and former Israeli officials have also spoken publicly about shifting their attention from Hamas to the more powerful Hezbollah
Civil War in Israeli Army, Parliament as MPs detain Soldiers for Gang Rape of Palestinian Prisoners at Vault of Horrors The Israeli newspaper Arab 48 reports that on Monday, military police raided the Sde Teiman detention center where Palestinian prisoners are being held, detaining 9 Israel soldiers suspected of gang raping and severely sexually torturing detainees. One further suspect was not apprehended. The soldiers belong to the Force 100 unit, which has been detailed to Sde Teiman as prison guards. … Soldiers at Sde Teiman put up resistance to the military police, with a fight breaking out, though the MPs clearly won that one. Rejecting these charges against the soldiers, a right wing mob that included members of the Parliament from the Likud and the Religious Zionist and Jewish Power blocs, then attempted several times to storm through the gates of the facility and finally succeeded in breaching the military barricades, attacking MPs and reaching the area where Palestinians are held. One soldier said that no one seemed to be in control. The unruly crowd chanted its support for torture and even called for the summary execution of the Palestinian prisoners.

The Only Way to address the Threat of Microplastics in the Great Lakes is to Cut Plastic Production and Consumption By Lewis Alcott, University of Bristol; Fereidoun Rezanezhad, University of Waterloo; Nancy Goucher, University of Waterloo; Philippe Van Cappellen, University of Waterloo; and Stephanie SlowinskiUniversity of Waterloo | – You would be hard-pressed to find a corner of the world free from microplastics, plastic particles measuring less than five millimetres. They contaminate our drinking water, accumulate in the food we eat and have been found in the human body, including in blood, organs, placenta, semen and breast milk.
Toxic Harvest New research finds pesticides may be as bad for you as smoking — so why is Congress poised to shield the industry from liability? Anew study found the amount of pesticides used on farms was strongly associated with the incidence of many cancers — not only for farmers and their families, but for entire communities. It comes on the heels of substantial lobbying by the pesticide industry this spring to limit its liability from lawsuits over their products’ health impacts. The just-released analysis showed that “agricultural pesticides can increase your risk for some cancers just as much as smoking,” says co-author Isain Zapata, an associate professor of research and statistics at Rocky Vista University in Colorado. For example, living in places with high pesticide use increased the risk of colon and pancreatic cancers by more than 80 percent, results that surprised even the researchers. “In my opinion, that’s crazy,” Zapata said, adding they were not expecting to find such a significant association. The research idea came from one of Zapata’s students, a medical student who grew up on a farm. The scientists obtained data on the use of 69 different pesticides from surveys conducted by the United States Department of Agriculture. They then compared these to cancer incidence rates per county nationwide, using databases from the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2015 to 2019. Finally, they adjusted the analysis for other factors that might have contributed, including socioeconomic disparities. The results were published on Thursday in the academic journal Frontiers in Cancer Control and Society.

Rights Groups Warn Senate-Passed Online Safety Bill ‘Makes Kids Less Safe’ Sen. Ron Wyden echoed their concerns that “a future MAGA administration could still use this bill to pressure companies to censor gay, trans, and reproductive health information.” As the U.S. Senate on Tuesday overwhelmingly passed legislation intended to better protect children on the internet, rights groups renewed their intense criticism ofparts of the package. The Senate voted 91-3 on the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act (KOSPA), which includes the Children’s and Teens Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0) as well as the controversial Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA), which opponents say “makes kids less safe.”

US Research Stations in Peru and Elsewhere Prepare for Biowarfare The U.S. government began preparing for biological warfare during World War II. Biological weapons were employed during the Korean War against North Korea and China. President Nixon in 1969 ended the U.S. use of biological weapons for offensive purposes. The United States joined other nations in approving the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC), which took effect in 1975. Even so, U.S. agents introduced microorganisms that devastated Cuba’s agriculture intermittently from the 1970s into the1980s. They introduced dengue virus in 1981, thereby provoking an epidemic that killed 169 Cubans. In 2001 the George W. Bush administration disavowed the Protocol that was essential for strengthening the BWC. A 2017 report from the Latin American think-tank CEPRID tells of suspicious U.S. virologic research centers in Ecuador, of Brazilian soldiers dying of an unknown infectious disease, and “research centers located in countries like Brazil, Guatemala, Panama. Honduras, Costa Rica, República Dominicana, Haiti, [and] Guyana.” The report notes the existence in Peru of U.S. biological research laboratories operating under the façade of sponsorship by local universities.
