Capitalism is Now a Worldwide Threat to Humanity! It is on the Fast Track to Global Warming and/or Nuclear War Catastrophes!

Since World War I, ‘the war to end all wars’, there have been perpetual wars for perpetual peace, this Laura Gray’s cartoon from the front page of The Militant August 18, 1945, Under the Banner Headline: “There Is No Peace”, is Still True for Today’s World!

Capitalism as a Failed  System: World Capitalism Has Been Aware of the Comming Catastrophe of Global Warming  Over 5 Decades Ago and Did Nothing!:  Under Capitalism — Human Lives Don’t Matter  Capitalism Does Not, and Never Has, Worked for the Masses! In Its Death Agony, Capitalism Is Traveling About The World Like The Four Horsemen of the The Apocalypse, Spreading  Racism,  War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death. The very future of Humanity Is Now At stake!During This Economic Crisis, Capitalism’s Three-Point Political Program: 1. Austerity,2. Scapegoat Blacks, Minorities, and ‘Illegal’ Immigrants for Unemployment, and 3.  The Iron Heel!    For Decades, Blacks Have Been Subjected to The Iron Heel!   Currently, the US Capitalist Class is Divided Over When — Not If, to Apply It to Everyone!

Due to Years of Austerity, Cuts to Public Health Care, And An Anti-Science and Profiteering President, The United States Now Leads the World In  Coronavirus Cases and Deaths in the World!

Always Remember:  That President Obama, With a Majority Democrat Legislature Supported the Wall Street Bailout and Remember, That he Established, in writing,  the United States Capitalist Austerity Program. —  The Race to the Bottom/Pauperization of the 99%!

Democracy?: As the Capitalist Robber Barons Steal from the 99%,  Only the 1% Voted For Austerity!   The 99% Should Decide On Austerity — Not Just The 1%, Who Profit From Austerity!!  Under Austerity, All of the World Will Eventually Be Pauperized, Humbled, and Desecrated Like Greece and Puerto Rico.!   Socialism Means True Democracy, that the 99% Will Rule, Not the Few!

Quotes of the Day:

We want to emancipate ourselves and end capitalism as a system which continues to degrade our environment and planet leading to this point of crisis. We recognize that Britain is made of different nations and the environmental struggles will take their own forms. We will need specific demands in the nations as well as international action – none of the problems that global warming raises can be solved nationally.     Ecosocialism 2023 will be held in the autumn, discussing the way capitalism is hostile to the environment, whether we need degrowth and what an eco-socialist movement and strategy will look like.  We need to turn theory into action if we are to have any hope of stopping runaway global warming.     If you would like to be involved in helping to organize the conference then please contact us at info@anticapitaltistresistance.org.Calls for Broad Ecosocialist Movement

About Time!:  Calls for Broad Ecosocialist Movement  Appeal proposes conference reen wash whilst tearing more carbon out of the ground for profits.   to discuss strategy and turn theory into action This appeal was published on August 23 by the British group Anticapitalist Resistance. This is an important initiative, but its success will depend whether it involves a wide range of ecosocialist currents in launching a non-sectarian and action-oriented coalition.      Capitalism is destroying the planet’s ecosystem for profit, so we must build an international eco-socialist movement rooted in the working class to expropriate businesses, end imperialism and borders, and transform the economy to prioritize human need within planetary limits.    Capitalism is killing the planet. Every day the news gets worse. The desperate drive for profit is tearing apart the ecosystem and now planetary boundaries have been torn down as carbon and other greenhouse gases accumulate.      Internationally millions are aware of the scale of the crisis, but too often people feel paralyzed or helpless to respond. This isn’t the same as removing CFCs or tackling acid rain. The problem of fossil capitalism goes right to the very basis of our society and how the economy is run.     Governments have declared climate emergencies but none are taking the measures needed to overcome this growing crisis. Companies green wash whilst tearing more carbon out of the ground for profits. The Conference of Parties (COP) have been meeting almost every year since 1995 and yet the majority of greenhouse gas emissions has happened since then. . .For An Ecosocialist United Front! The Global Climate Emergency is Now! Global Warming Emergency!

From: Crushing Climate Impacts to Hit Sooner Than Feared: Draft UN Report:

  • But global warming impacts are also amplified by all the other ways that humanity has shattered Earth’s equilibrium.
  • These include “losses of habitat and resilience, over-exploitation, water extraction, pollution, invasive non-native species and dispersal of pests and diseases,” the report says.
  • There is no easy solution to such a tangle of problems, said Nicholas Stern, former chief economist at the World Bank and author of the landmark Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change.
  • “The world is confronting a complex set of interwoven challenges,” said Stern, who did not contribute to the IPCC report.
  • “Unless you tackle them together, you are not going to do very well on any of them.”

The UN Climate Report States:  “The world is confronting a complex set of interwoven challenges,” said Stern, who did not contribute to the IPCC report.“Unless you tackle them together, you are not going to do very well on any of them.”     To solve the coming catastrophe, all of the nations and the nations of the must take collective action to stop the rapid rate of global warming!

The Dangerous Contrivance of “Climate Change” It’s time to put an end to this whole “climate change” contrivance. In the first place, “climate change” is meaningless jargon. Of course climate changes, that’s what seasons are for. What the U.N. IPCC reports are all about is global overheating, that’s the problem—and its attendant problems, a decrease in the reflective albedo effect, ice melting at the poles and mountains, oceans rising and overheating, excessive moisture and altered weather patterns, and excessive heat on the earth, seriously affecting both humans and rainforests.  And that leaves out non-attendant problems like ocean acidification and coral reef destruction, and the extinction of species on an unprecedented scale.     In the second, the problem of global overheating is so acute and pervasive that no amount of meliorative efforts that may be made now has any chance of halting it or reining it in.  For all the talk of limiting carbon dioxide emissions, these have increased steadily for the last two decades and show no signs of slowing, and world temperatures have increased steadily as well, with the hottest years since 1850 coming in the last five years.   There are no actions by humans underway now or even contemplated in the next decadess that, even if efficiently undertaken and carried out—which is problematic—have any chance of changing that in any serious way.  The Paris limit of 1.5 Celsius overheating will be passed within a year.

United States:

The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through their ownership of the Republicrats and who profit from war and the war budget, vote for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a  Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War!  Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! The United States takes from the poor and gives to the Rich. Tax the Rich!  — They Can Afford To Pay! Both Parties Support U.S. Capitalism’s Wars! (The Only War the Democrats Opposed was the Civil War!)

A Vote for Trump or Biden is a Vote for Ecocide!

The Media Monopoly and 2024: One, we are now on notice that the Democratic leadership intends to address the problem of Joe Biden’s worsening-by-the-day mental incompetence by pushing Harris out front effectively to stand in for the president on the campaign trail. I had been wondering for some time how they would handle this knotty problem. Harris is now cast as “something of a one-woman rapid-response operation,” as The Times put it. She will do the public campaigning, in other words, while voters are invited to reelect a president they will rarely see but for more of those staged videos shot from the basement of his Wilmington mansion.      Two, our media are now certain, and unfortunately with justification, that they can get Americans to think whatever it is the power elites want them to think, however preposterous this may be. And they are fully committed to this project in the interests of the power they serve. We live, in other words, in the propaganda state Walter Lippmann, Edward Bernays, and others of their kind described approvingly a century ago.     Three, and this is the worst of it, there is no longer any air whatsoever between The New York Times and the Democratic National Committee. The one serves the other as a party organ in all respects other than name. This is what I mean when I invoke Jefferson’s nightmare of a government without newspapers. We are on notice as of this political season that this is what we’ve got. — Patrick Lawrence: The Press and 2024

United States Police Terrorism: ‘Police Lied’: Video Belies Philly Cops’ Claim in Fatal Shooting of Eddie Irizarry “What about what you just saw could ever be confused as, ‘He got out of the car and lunged at police officers’?” asked a lawyer for the victim’s family. “That was an out-and-out, flat-out lie.” Philadelphia’s police commissioner said Wednesday that she intends to fire the officer who fatally shot a man in his car earlier this month—an incident in which new video footage of the killing confirmed that police lied about the circumstances of the deadly encounter.

South Carolina’s All-Male Highest Court Upholds Six-Week Abortion Ban Panel overrode earlier decision in which top court decided a similar restriction was unconstitutional.    South Carolina’s new all-male highest court on Wednesday reversed course on abortion rights, upholding the state’s strict six-week ban on the procedure.     The panel overrode an earlier decision in which the court decided a similar restriction was unconstitutional.     The court on Wednesday found that the state constitution’s protection against “unreasonable invasions of privacy” did not include a right to abortion, and that the state law was “within the zone of reasonable policy decisions rationally related to the state’s interest in protecting the unborn”.

15 Prisoners Died Last Year in Jail Where Trump Will Surrender Thursday The Justice Department announced it’s opened a civil investigation into the conditions in Georgia’s Fulton County Jail.     As former President Donald Trump prepares to surrender in Atlanta on Thursday to face charges related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, we speak with journalist George Chidi, who has documented the inhumane conditions inside the Fulton County Jail, where Trump will appear before a judge. “A lot of people are getting killed” inside the jail, says Chidi. “The jail is the largest mental health provider in this county, and that’s a tragedy all on its own.” He also discusses the death of Lashawn Thompson, who was found dead inside his cell after being eaten alive by insects, according to family. Chidi writes The Atlanta Objective newsletter, and his recent piece for Atlanta magazine is headlined “The real behind the wall: A look inside the infamous, deadly Fulton County Jail.”

Low-Wage Corporations Have Poured $341 Billion Into Stock Buybacks Since 2020 Report A Lowe’s worker climbs down a ladder Low-Wage Corporations Have Poured $341 Billion Into Stock Buybacks Since 2020: Report The median worker at Lowe’s, the home improvement retailer, made just over $29,580 last year—not enough to comfortably afford a modest one-bedroom rental home in the United States.  But the company was hardly cash-strapped in 2022. According to a report released Thursday by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), Lowe’s spent more than $14 billion on stock buybacks that year, providing an artificial boost to the company’s share price and further enriching wealthy investors and executives.     If Lowe’s had instead opted to use that cash to the benefit of its employees, every one of the corporation’s U.S. workers could have received a $46,923 bonus, IPS calculated.

Health. Welfare, and Education:

The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who, pass universal healthcare for themselves, but cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! This is what is considered, by the powers to be,  a democracy and part of the democratic way. — Roland Sheppard, Let the People  Vote on Healthcare

How Will Ecuador’s New Oil Drilling Ban in Amazon Shape the Runoff Election? “[Whoever] wins has to comply with what the Ecuadorian people voted,” says activist Helena Gualinga. Esupported a ban on future oil extraction in a biodiverse section of the Amazon’s Yasuní National Park — a historic referendum result that will protect Indigenous Yasuní land from development. We speak with Helena Gualinga, a youth Kichwa Sarayaku environmental activist from Ecuador who has fought against oil drilling all her life and says the results of the vote not only set a “crucial precedent” as the first time a country has voted by democratic ballot initiative on resource extraction in the Amazon, but also demonstrates that “Ecuador is a country that is committed to protecting the Amazon rainforest and to protecting Indigenous peoples.”

Super-Exploitation and Migrant Labour: Only Class Struggle Can Defend Workers For their own cynical reasons, Tory ministers are promising to punish companies that employ illegal migrants. But government penalties cannot protect precarious workers. Only militancy and organisation can defend workers against the bosses’ system.      Earlier this month, in yet another attempt to appease their rabid ranks with rhetoric about ‘taking back control’ of Britain’s borders, the Tories announced a hike in fines for companies and landlords found to be employing and housing illegal migrants.     Outlining the new government measures, immigration minister Robert Jenrick asserted that such penalties are “vital for deterring dangerous, unnecessary small boat crossings”.     In reality, however, it is the Tories’ ‘hostile environment’ that continues to endanger the lives and livelihoods of migrants and refugees – often with deadly consequences.

Kaiser Permanente Reinstates Mask Mandate Amid COVID-19 Spike. What To Know About The Disease Now  Sonoma County health officials say they’ve seen an uptick in positive COVID-19 tests during outpatient visits.      A spike in local COVID-19 infections has led Kaiser Permanente, the county’s largest primary care provider, to begin requiring staff, patients and visitors to wear masks at its Santa Rosa facilities.     Kaiser said in a statement late Tuesday that in the past three weeks there has been an overall increase in the number of patients testing positive for COVID-19.
