9/11: The Big Lie Although widely criticized when it first appeared in March of this year, Thierry Meyssan’s 11 Septembre: L’Effroyable Imposture, nevertheless went on France’s bestseller list in its second week and became the highest-grossing book in a single week in Europe ever. As Alan Riding noted in the European edition of The New York Times, it is a book that has taken on a life of its own. Now, American readers have their own opportunity to evaluate the merit of the author’s arguments. Just published by USA Books are the English-language editions of the original title and a companion volume, Pentagate. As a former student of theology as well as of political science, M. Meyssan brings to his work a sincere desire to provide an explanation of the tragedy in the context of his left-of-center philosophy. His books are focused primarily on what he believes are serious inconsistencies between observations of the damage to the Pentagon and the official explanation of what happened there. In September 11: The Big Lie, he also discusses similar discrepancies surrounding the destruction of the World Trade Center towers. The evidence that supports the authors arguments includes eyewitness accounts and commentary by a military authority on explosives. However, most of the narrative consists of the author’s own analyses of the reports by politicians and journalists as well as of film footage of the sites. Photos are included. According to the author, interest in these books in the U.S. is already very strong.Speaking as head of a think tank called the Voltaire Network, he notes, Two-thirds of the hits on our Web site come from the United States. For students of history and political science, as well as all concerned citizens, these are important books to be aware of. While tech corporations like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, and Twitter became more and more a part of our everyday lives, these same companies were providing tools to the US military and government to help fuel their war on Muslim communities. The Federal Investigation of 9/11 Ignored Recorded, Eyewitness Accounts of Firefighters Who Heard Explosions Just Before the Towers Collapsed On September 11, 2001 we were living in the quaint town of Garden City, Long Island, New York. The town was a 46-minute ride to Manhattan on the Long Island Rail Road. That easy proximity to the Big Apple meant that many folks in the town worked for financial firms, including those located in the World Trade Center Towers. It also meant that Garden City was among the suburban towns that suffered significant loss of life on 9/11: 23 of our residents never came home on the Long Island Rail Road that day – or any day thereafter.

Rwanda’s Military is the French Proxy on African Soil On July 9, 2021, the government of Rwanda said that it had deployed 1,000 troops to Mozambique to battle al-Shabaab fighters, who had seized the northern province of Cabo Delgado. A month later, on August 8, Rwandan troops captured the port city of Mocímboa da Praia, where just off the coast sits a massive natural gas concession held by the French energy company TotalEnergies SE and the U.S. energy company ExxonMobil. These new developments in the region led to the African Development Bank’s President M. Akinwumi Adesina announcing on August 27 that TotalEnergies SE will restart the Cabo Delgado liquefied natural gas project by the end of 2022.
Japan: Prime Minister Suga’s Resignation and the End of Political Stability On Friday 3 September, Japan’s Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced that he would not be running in the leadership contest of his Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) scheduled for later this month. This effectively means that he will be stepping down as Prime Minister after barely a year in office. However, given the general crisis of Japanese capitalism, what we are seeing here isn’t just the end of Suga’s own political career, but the end of relative political stability that the ruling class has managed to maintain for the past decade. In Japan, a new, turbulent epoch of political instability is being ushered in.
