Editorial: Ecosocialism or Ecocide!!!!     Over a Hundred Years Ago.  Rosa Luxemburg Raised the Slogan: Socialism or Barbarism!   The Slogan for 2021 is Ecosocialism or Ecocide!!!!

Last month, scientists from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Wrote  Their report, fearing that the final drafte whould be ‘greewashed’ by the countries who write the fina; report. Crushing Climate Impacts to Hit Sooner Than Feared: Draft UN Report.  From the leaked draft: There is no easy solution to such a tangle of problems, said Nicholas Stern, former chief economist at the World Bank and author of the landmark Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change. “The world is confronting a complex set of interwoven challenges,” said Stern, who did not contribute to the IPCC report.“Unless you tackle them together, you are not going to do very well on any of them.”     Lately,  More Than 200 Health Journals Call For Urgent Action On Climate Crisis. The editorials stated: “Reflecting the severity of the moment, this editorial appears in health journals across the world. “We are united in recognising that only fundamental and equitable changes to societies will reverse our current trajectory.” It adds: “The greatest threat to global public health is the continued failure of world leaders to keep the global temperature rise below 1.5C and to restore nature. “Urgent, society-wide changes must be made and will lead to a fairer and healthier world. “We, as editors of health journals, call for governments and other leaders to act, marking 2021 as the year that the world finally changes course.” “Urgent, society-wide changes must be made and will lead to a fairer and healthier world.     To the majority of the world scientists believe that it is necessary for a nations to coporate and unite ttogthert to fight the coming ecological crisis of global warming.  The coronavirus pandemic as proven that capitalist countries cannot and will not cooperate to fight the coronavirus pandemic crisis.     To fight the pandemic and global warming a cooperative world society of nation is necessary to end these man-made catastrophies! Since environmental illness and destruction are a global concern, it requires all of humanity to act collectively, in our overall interests for our survival as a species, to correct the problem and to remove the obstacle of capitalism. It requires a society where humanity has social, economic, and political control over the entire environment. Such a society, aa ecosocialist society, is needed to ensure that all decisions affecting the environment are under the democratic control of humankind so that the production of goods will be done for the needs and survival of humanity.instead of the production and the destruction of humanity and other species for profit.    With common ownership of the means of production, and common control and protection of all property and wealth, science and society will be in harmony with the ecosystem and humanity’s future. With these goals we can begin to build a more effective environmental movement. As we continue to organize against capitalism and its destructive course, we can and will transform the world!

The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through. their ownership of the Reublicrats, who profit from war and the war budget, voted for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a  Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War!  Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! Press Freedom Bill Would Protect Journalists Facing Persecution — But Not Julian Assange Senators say they want to protect foreign journalists from government aggression. But what happens when the U.S. is the aggressor?  Earlier this year, just days before World Press Freedom Day, Sens. Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., joined forces to introduce the International Press Freedom Act of 2021, a bipartisan bill to protect at-risk journalists working in highly censored countries. The legislation is predicated on the idea that the United States is a uniquely safe place for journalists — but that notion doesn’t always hold up under scrutiny.US: Parasitic Landlords Capitalise On the Housing Crisis Under pressure from the big landlords, the Supreme Court has nullified an extended moratorium on evictions, implemented in the interest of slowing the spread of COVID. Some seven million Americans are behind on rent and millions of working-class families now face a tsunami of evictions. What does all of this mean for the longstanding crisis of housing in the richest country on earth?Afghanistan and the US Corporate Media The Taliban’s lightning fast takeover of Afghanistan was amazingly achieved with relatively little killing and bloodshed. Since the rout of the government, an entity essentially installed by the US, the Taliban has been assuring the Afghan people that its governance style will be more moderate than under its previous rule. Many people in Afghanistan are very fearful and particularly skeptical about the idea that the Taliban will change its ways. Many in the US share this skepticism and view the comments by the Taliban about including women in government, an amnesty and honoring human rights as simply public relations spin.
Terrorist War on Terrorism: 9/11 and My Pariah Decade Life in American changed 20 years ago after the 9/11 attacks.  Many Americans became enraged at anyone who did not swear allegiance to President George W. Bush’s anti-terrorism crusade. Anyone who denied “they hate us for our freedoms” automatically became an enemy of freedom.   Plenty of stalwart defenders of liberty quickly found themselves banished from polite company.  At the time of the 9/11 attacks, I had been bashing government policies for 20 years. Conservatives relished my battering of the Clinton administration in books such as Feeling Your Pain (St. Martin’s, 2000). But past writing provided no indemnity for subsequent sins.Bush’s EPA Hid Health Risks From Toxic Dust at Ground Zero and Thousands Died As this week marks the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, we look at an enraging new documentary, 9/11’s Unsettled Dust, on the impact of the toxic, cancer-causing smoke and dust that hung over ground zero and how the Environmental Protection Agency put Wall Street’s interests before public health and told people the air was safe to breathe. One of the key figures in the film is Democracy Now! co-host Juan González, who was among the first to expose the public health and environmental crisis at ground zero in a series of reports for the New York Daily News. He says the intense backlash from the mayor’s office and federal officials “cowed” the newspaper, but he has no regrets. “My only mistake was believing that it would take 20 years for people to get sick,” González says. “It took about five years for the deaths and the severe illnesses to really become apparent.” Director Lisa Katzman says she made the film because she was a resident of Lower Manhattan who saw the attack and its aftermath up close and wanted “to address the lack of accountability” from city and federal officials. “The same people that were always touting ‘Never forget! Never forget!’ and constantly reminding us of the heroism of these responders were unwilling to do anything to actually help them,” notes KatzmanEnvironment:
Hurricane Ida: Divers Find Broken Pipeline In Search For Source of Gulf Oil Spill  Coast Guard says potential slicks spotted in Gulf of Mexico after the powerful storm wreaked havoc in the region last week. Divers searching for the source of an oil spill spotted in the Gulf of Mexico in the wake of Hurricane Ida have identified a broken pipeline on the ocean floor as the possible cause.
Louisiana Shell Refinery Left Spewing Chemicals (Carcinogens) After Hurricane Ida Health concerns linked to potential toxic exposure underscore the array of long-term impacts brought by the category 4 storm that struck south-east Louisiana earlier this week. As of Thursday afternoon, nearly a million homes and businesses were without power, leaving hundreds of thousands more without access to clean water. And with hundreds of chemical facilities located within the path of the hurricane, numerous air quality tracking systems were left out of commission. It’s unclear how long it will take to assess the full scope of the damage and its toll on residents.

Anger Mounts Over Democrats’ Refusal to Address Jobless Aid Crisis Progressive critics warn failure to bolster the unemployment system during the pandemic “is a shocking dereliction of responsibility.” Worker justice advocates are growing increasingly furious over the national Democratic leadership’s refusal to act after more than nine million people across the U.S. were thrown off unemployment insurance earlier this week, an unprecedented aid cut that took effect in the middle of a surging pandemic and persistent economic crisis.
Workers Squeezed Whilst the Rich Get Richer: Make the Bosses Pay! For all the talk of economic recovery, the truth is that there has been no real recovery for the working class. A new wave of austerity and inflation is set to erode living standards for the majority. We say: expropriate the billionaires! Millions of workers are facing an onslaught to their living standards over the next few months. Despite the Tories proclaiming that ‘the age of austerity is over’, the reality is that workers’ incomes are set to be decimated through a combination of benefit cuts, tax rises, and inflation.Economy:

Natalie Edwards Was Imprisoned this Month by the U.S. for Blowing the Whistle on Wall Street Banks’ Laundering of Dirty Money Natalie Mayflower Sours Edwards received her Ph.D. in 2007 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her dissertation was titled: “Core Competences Required to Lead an Executive Level at the Department of Homeland Security.” On Friday morning, September 3, Edwards began serving a six-month sentence, to be followed by three years of supervised release, in the Federal Prison Camp known simply as “Alderson” in Alderson, West Virginia. There is currently a notice on the prison camp’s website that reads: “All visiting at this facility has been suspended until further notice.” This means that a woman who set out to help her country ferret out criminal money laundering now finds herself unable to even visit with her husband or her 16-year old daughter.

The Money That Never Arrives in Cuba With the money she earns cleaning houses in the morning and an office at night, Virgen Elena Pupo, a 47-year-old Cuban migrant, has managed to raise her family in Washington, D.C., but has not been able to help her parents in Holguín, Cuba. She is separated from her parents by more than 1,246 miles. In Cuba’s eastern region, Holguín has been hit hard by an increase in COVID-19 cases, but Pupo cannot visit or send money to her parents due to the restrictions on flights and remittances from the United States as a result of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies that President Joe Biden has continued.
In Unanimous Ruling, Mexican Supreme Court Decriminalizes Abortion  One reproductive rights organizer called the historic decision “an enormous step toward legalization in the entire country.” Standing in stark contrast with a newly effective anti-abortion law in neighboring Texas, Mexico’s Supreme Court on Tuesday unanimously ruled that a state law criminalizing abortion is unconstitutional, setting a precedent that advocates say is likely to ultimately lead to full legalization in the nation with the world’s second-largest Roman Catholic population.Education, Health, Science, and Welfare:
The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who pass universal healthcare for themselves, but cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! This is what is considered, by the powers to be,  a democracy and part of the democratic way. — Roland Sheppard, Let the People  Vote on Healthcare!
Our For-Profit Health System Is Worsening a Nursing Shortage Amid Delta’s Surge  Low pay, poor working conditions and emotional burnout put both nurses and patients at risk. As the Delta variant continues to rage in the United States, maxing out many of the nation’s intensive care units, we face a severe deficit in direct care nurses and caregivers in our hospitals. Since 2016, hospitals have turned over an average of 90.8 percent of their staff, including registered nurses (RNs). Some hospitals have annual RN vacancy rates hovering well beyond 20 percent. But the number actually needed to provide safe care is often double or even triple.
