United States Terrorist Bombardments: US Airstrikes Have Killed Up to 48,000 Civilians Since 9/11: Analysis “On average, U.S.-led airstrikes have killed more than 1,000 civilians a year since 2001.” Airstrikes conducted by the United States have killed between 22,000 and 48,000 civilians since September 11, 2001, according to a report published Monday by Airwars, a military watchdog that monitors and seeks to reduce civilian harm in violent conflict zones. The new analysis, released ahead of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the retaliatory launch of the so-called “War on Terror,” came just days after a U.S. drone strike killed at least 10 members of a single family in Kabul amid the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
The 1%’s Robber Baron Government has Stolen $2,9 Trillion From the 99%!When the President or Democrats and Republicans talk about the social security ‘debt’, they are telling you that they are not going to return the money to social security, but increase taxation of the 99%!
“The government’s $2.5 trillion debt to Social Security is the real reason that so many politicians want to cut benefits. They are trying to find a way to avoid having to repay the looted money…. Given the fact that much of the surplus revenue from the 1983 payroll tax hike ended up in the pockets of the super rich in the form of income tax cuts, I propose a special tax on this group of taxpayers to recoup the missing Social Security money. The government used revenue from the Social Security payroll tax hike to fund tax cuts for the rich because that was where the money was. I think the government should recover the ‘embezzled’ money by taxing the rich.” Many US residents have been looking into tax resolution services payroll tax problem to try and regain some of their lost tax. — How Your Social Security Money Was Stolen – Where Did The $2.5 Trillion Surplus Go?(2015)
What many people don’t know is how Social Security actually works. There is no cash in the bank to pay out monthly benefit checks. The Congress, those keepers of the financial retirement flame, have been using Social Security taxes to fund other parts of the government because, well the money is there. Technically the government owes the Social Security fund an estimated $2.9 trillion, money that has been used and not repaid to the fund. The money is legally held in a special type of bond that by law cannot be used for any other purpose other than to put the money back into the fund. But the government, thrifty group that they are, didn’t cash the bonds in, they simply borrowed the money and promise to pat it back. — Here’s How Much Money Has Congress Taken From Social Security

220+ Journals Unite to Demand Urgent Action on Climate Emergency “The greatest threat to global public health is the continued failure of world leaders to keep the global temperature rise below 1.5°C and to restore nature,” warn journals in unprecedented joint editorial. “As with the Covid-19 pandemic, we are globally as strong as our weakest member.”For Louisiana’s Coastal Tribes, ‘Being At The End of the Earth Is a Dangerous Place’ “”Every building on my property was destroyed,’ said the chief of the Grand Caillou/Dulac Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw, now staying with her mother in Thibodaux. Almost every member of her Native American tribe suffered the same fate. Those who lived in mobile homes saw their trailers blown up or ‘thrown to the ground and beaten up to the point where it’s unlivable,’ she said.” After Hurricane Ida, Native Americans confront loss of homes, income, sacred sites.

And, the fight against Monsanto’s Roundup (now owned by Bayer) scores courtroom victory after victory. But New York Citys Mayor has decided to renew the citys toxic pesticide spraying over its people and environs to kill mosquitoes said to be carrying West Nile Virus.

Nuclear Alert: Post-Hurricane Ida Status at Entergy’s Waterford Nuke . . . When Ida hit Louisiana on August 29th, high winds broke numerous transmission lines, which caused the electric grid to fail. As a result, Waterford lost its electric grid connection. Entergy Corporation, Waterford’s owner, notified its regulator, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), that it had switched to emergency power. Entergy filed a Notice of Unusual Occurrence with the NRC that its two emergency diesel engines were the only electrical systems available to cool the Waterford reactor. Waterford remained without power and relied on its diesels from August 29th to September 2nd. On September 2nd, Entergy restored off-site power, so the emergency diesel engines were no longer required. However, as of September 3rd, Waterford remains shut down and produces zero power while the electric grid supports its safety systems. Entergy issued a tweet saying it had no idea of how long Waterford would not be producing electricity (see image below):
Treasured Western Trout Streams Wither Amid Heat, Drought Climate change continues to wreak havoc across the American West. Environmental Racism: What Hurricanes Mean When You Live In Louisiana’s ‘Cancer Alley’ The lack of emergency response after the hurricane, Taylor said, is just another example of the neglect the community has long suffered. Residents say the government failed to prepare the community for the storm by not issuing an evacuation order earlier or assisting poor and vulnerable residents who could not manage to flee their homes, like Cayette. “The government is obviously failing us and not protecting us,” said Taylor, who evacuated from St. John before Hurricane Ida hit. “And this just pushed it over the top.” The predominantly Black community of St. John and the nearly majority Black population of St. James sit at the heart of Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley,” the 85-mile stretch between New Orleans and Baton Rouge that’s home to more than 150 chemical plants and oil refineries. According to the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2019 environmental justice data, eight of the nation’s top 14 block groups — census areas that typically contain 600 to 3,000 people — with the country’s estimated highest cancer risks are in St. John.
Arkansas Inmates Say They Were Given Ivermectin For COVID-19 Without Their Consent “I asked what are they, and they’d just tell me vitamins,” one inmate said. People incarcerated in an Arkansas jail say the facility’s physician prescribed them ivermectin to treat COVID-19 and that they weren’t aware they were taking the drug. The anti-parasite drug, typically used to deworm horses and cattle, has developed an unlikely ― and baseless ― reputation as a COVID treatment in humans, despite stern warnings from the Food and Drug Administration.Dana Milbank: Texas Shows What a Post-Democracy Society Looks Like Dana Milbank is a regular opinion writer for The Washington Post. As a native Texan, who still has strong emotional ties to the state, I found his analysis to be deeply upsetting. Since the Supreme Court’s decision not to overturn the Texas abortion ban, I can no longer buy anything from Texas, including Tito’s, my favorite vodka. When the anti-vaxxers show up at school board meetings proclaiming “My body, my choice,” I wonder why they don’t feel the same about women’s reproductive rights. Milbank wrote: Texas this week showed us what a post-democracy America would look like.
Thanks to a series of actions by the Texas legislature and governor, we now see exactly what the Trumpified Republican Party wants: to take us to an America where women cannot get abortions, even in cases of rape and incest; an America where almost everybody can openly carry a gun in public, without license, without permit, without safety training and without fingerprinting; and an America where law-abiding Black and Latino citizens are disproportionately denied the right to vote.
This is where Texas and other red states are going, or have already gone. It is where the rest of America will go, unless those targeted by these new laws — women, people of color and all small “d” democrats — rise up.

Economy:
Booms and Bezzles Major stock markets are hovering near all-time highs and commodity prices (food and materials) are rocketing. At the other end of the scale, short-term interest rates are near or below zero, and even long-term government and corporate bonds are at record prices (record low yields). All this is driven by huge injections of money created by central banks to buy bonds and allow corporations and investment institutions to borrow at very low ‘margin’ rates to speculate in stocks, bonds, property and crypto-currencies; and also enable so-called ‘private equity’ firms and hedge funds to raise funds to buy up companies to ‘asset-strip’ and then sell on – merger and acquisition deals are at record levels. A staggering $1.2 trillion in mergers and acquisitions transactions announced and pending or completed so far in 2021 have involved a private equity party. This speculative fever inevitably breeds swindles, tricks and frauds. Liberal left economist JK Galbraith back in the 1950s, when referring to the ‘roaring twenties’ , called the results of speculation, ‘bezzle’. Coming from the word ‘embezzlement’ Galbraith defined ‘bezzle’; as “a temporary gap between the perceived value of a portfolio of assets and its long-term economic value. “

Education, Health, Science, and Welfare:
The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who pass universal healthcare for themselves, but cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! This is what is considered, by the powers to be, a democracy and part of the democratic way. — Roland Sheppard, Let the People Vote on Healthcare!

The Lancet: Call For Emergency Action to Limit Global Temperature Increases, Restore Biodiversity, and Protect Health The UN General Assembly in September, 2021, will bring countries together at a critical time for marshalling collective action to tackle the global environmental crisis. They will meet again at the biodiversity summit in Kunming, China, and the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, UK. Ahead of these pivotal meetings, we—the editors of health journals worldwide—call for urgent action to keep average global temperature increases below 1·5°C, halt the destruction of nature, and protect health. Health is already being harmed by global temperature increases and the destruction of the natural world, a state of affairs health professionals have been bringing attention to for decades. The science is unequivocal; a global increase of 1·5°C above the pre-industrial average and the continued loss of biodiversity risk catastrophic harm to health that will be impossible to reverse. Despite the world’s necessary preoccupation with COVID-19, we cannot wait for the pandemic to pass to rapidly reduce emissions. Reflecting the severity of the moment, this Comment appears in health journals across the world. We are united in recognising that only fundamental and equitable changes to societies will reverse our current trajectory.
