Editorial: Donald Trump Guilty of Inciting His Supporters to Violence!

‘How do you stop these people?’: Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric looms over El Paso massacre

At a May 9 , 2019 Trump rally Trumps supporters yelled in response to a Trump’s question on ‘how do you stop these people (Imigrants)? The audience member yelled ‘shoot them’. He made a joke which actually was an encouragement to a solution to the problem of shoot immigrants. See Trump laughs after audience member suggests shooting migrants – video An audience member at a Donald Trump rally in Florida yelled ‘shoot them’, in reference to migrants at the border. Trump had asked the crowd: ‘How do you stop these people?’ After laughing at the response, he added: ‘Only in the panhandle can you get away with that statement.’

Could anybody be surprised that the person the El Paso shooter was a Trump supporter?

See: Texas Walmart shooting suspect ‘wrote hate-filled racist manifesto’ before massacre?:  Reports have identified the shooter at the Walmart in El Paso as Patrick Crusius, 21, of Allen, Texas.A document was posted on a website about 90 minutes before the rampage in which the suspect spoke of an ‘invasion’ of Latino immigrants to his country. A Twitter account belonging to Crusius was shut down on Saturday evening. Tweets on the account had praised President Donald Trump and, in particular, his effort to build a wall along the US-Mexico border.

After the El Paso Massacre, President Trump declared the two shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, that left at least 29 people dead within 24 hours a “mental illness problem.”

Trumps’ rhetoric and tweets about immigrants have/had set the stage for violence. Trump tries to imply that he is not at fault, because the shooter had a mental illness problem.  But Trump is smart enough to know, that  some of his supporters might have  ‘mental illness problems’.

Of course, Trump made his statements knowing that his supporters might put his words into practice —  Thinking that El Paseo is like the Florida panhandle and that he was ‘protecting the border’.

During the Reign of Trump American Terrorism Has Come Home to Roost!

We must call the El Paso shooting what it is: Trump-inspired terrorismLast year, when a rabid, anti-immigrant antisemite murdered 11 people in a Pittsburgh synagogue, I called it an act of domestic terrorism inspired by the ideology of Trumpism. The shooting took place during the height of the 2018 midterm campaign when Trump was inciting fear of an immigrant “caravan” from Central America. The shooter got the message. Hours before his bloody rampage, he accused a Jewish refugee support agency of bringing “invaders in that kill our people. Saturday in El Paso it was deja vu all over again. Two Foxes and a Hen: Sexual Assault in the Military This is now a nation governed by thugs, a government in many ways reminiscent of right-wing authoritarian societies throughout history. It’s a smiling version of authoritarianism unless a person happens to be an immigrant. There aren’t death camps or gulags here, unless you’re an immigrant, or in some cases a prisoner in a place like the federal prison at Florence, Colorado (USP Florence ADMAX) (here, I refer to the extreme practice of long-term solitary confinement), or Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. The government doesn’t need concentration camps for citizens like the ones where Japanese Americans were held during World War II, at least not yet. Signs of Recession Are Hitting Europe—And Its New Central Bank President May Not Be Up for the Challenge  We now know that there will be a changing of the guard at the European Central Bank (ECB) in October. The current head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, will succeed current ECB President Mario Draghi at that time. A known quantity among the political and investor class of Europe, Lagarde seems like a safe choice: she is a lawyer by training, not an economist. Hence, she is unlikely to usher in any dramatic changes. By Marshall Auerback

In a Video of the Demonstrations in Hong Kong I Could Hear the Demonstrators singing this Song:

“Can You Hear Thepeople Sing” (Les Miserables)

“Do You Hear The People Sing?”
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums                                                  There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!                                                   Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!

Hong Kong: first attempt at general strike shakes society – socialist programme and leadership needed! As the government in Hong Kong continues to stand its ground, with Carrie Lam out of public sight for days, calls for a general strike have resurfaced in the past weeks. A spontaneously organised general strike on Monday (5 August) was called, along with plans for mass rallies in seven districts.  The Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions announced that 96 unions under its leadership will be joining the strike, though in the form of mass sick day requests. Workers’ organisations from such sectors as air travel, rail, public transportation, finance, social services, and more have declared their adherence to the general strike. Many rank-and-file public sector employees, especially government office workers, also showed potential signs of following suit.  By Parson YoungCity-wide strikes bring Hong Kong to a standstill Hong Kong was hit by widespread strikes Monday that brought chaos to much of the city’s transport network, including Hong Kong International Airport, in the most ambitious day of demonstrations since the movement began in June. • A huge day of protests: People are striking and protesting across seven districts of Hong Kong in the most ambitious and wide-ranging day of demonstrations this summer.

  • Strikes across all sectors: With strikers including teachers, aviation workers, finance employees and civil servants, major sectors of the Asian financial hub are likely to screech to a halt today.

  • Tear gas fired: Riot police have fired tear gas at five different locations, as clashes with protesters intensify.

 Health, Education, and Welfare:

The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who ‘govern’, pass universal healthcare for themselves, but they cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! The Dirty Rise of Finance Capital: Money Laundrering

Money laundering and fraud infographics with criminal washing money, bribery and corruption concept, offshore account, crime, jail, bank, coin, banknote icon, isometric vector illustration

There is a consensus among U.S. Congressional Investigators, former bankers and international banking experts that U.S. and European banks launder between $500 billion and $1 trillion of dirty money each year, half of which is laundered by U.S. banks alone.

As Senator Carl Levin summarizes the record: “Estimates are that $500 billion to $1 trillion of international criminal proceeds are moved internationally and deposited into bank accounts annually. It is estimated that half of that money comes to the United States”.Over a decade then, between $2.5 and $5 trillion criminal proceeds have been laundered by U.S. banks and circulated in the U.S. financial circuits. Senator Levin’s statement however, only covers criminal proceeds, according to U.S. laws. It does not include illegal transfers and capital flows from corrupt political leaders, or tax evasion by overseas businesses.

A leading U.S. scholar who is an expert on international finance associated with the prestigious Brookings Institute estimates “the flow of corrupt money out of developing (Third World) and transitional (ex-Communist) economies into Western coffers at $20 to $40 billion a year and the flow stemming from mis-priced trade at $80 billion a year or more.” My lowest estimate is $100 billion per year by these two means by which we facilitated a trillion dollars in the decade, at least half to the United States. Including the other elements of illegal flight capital would produce much higher figures. The Brookings expert also did not include illegal shifts of real estate and securities titles, wire fraud, etc.

In other words, an incomplete figure of dirty money (laundered criminal and corrupt money) flowing into U.S. coffers during the 1990s amounted to $3-$5.5 trillion. This is not the complete picture but it gives us a basis to estimate the significance of the “dirty money factor” in evaluating the U.S. economy. In the first place, it is clear that the combined laundered and dirty money flows cover part of the U.S. deficit in its balance of merchandise trade which ranges in the hundreds of billions annually. As it stands, the U.S. trade deficit is close to $300 billion. Without the “dirty money” the U.S. economy external accounts would be totally unsustainable, living standards would plummet, the dollar would weaken, the available investment and loan capital would shrink and Washington would not be able to sustain its global empire. And the importance of laundered money is forecast to increase.

Former private banker Antonio Geraldi, in testimony before the Senate Subcommittee projects significant growth in U.S. bank laundering. “The forecasters also predict the amounts laundered in the trillions of dollars and growing disproportionately to legitimate funds.” The $500 billion of criminal and dirty money flowing into and through the major U.S. banks far exceeds the net revenues of all the IT companies in the U.S., not to speak of their profits. These yearly inflows surpass all the net transfers by the major U.S. oil producers, military industries and airplane manufacturers. The biggest U.S. banks, particularly Citibank, derive a high percentage of their banking profits from serving these criminal and dirty money accounts. The big U.S. banks and key institutions sustain U.S. global power via their money laundering and managing of illegally obtained overseas funds. — James Petras, U.S. Banks and the Dirty Money Empire, Size and Scope of Money Laundering by US Banks(2001)
