Charlottesville: A Gun In His Face,But He Got The Photo Don’t look away. Four white neo-Nazis are beating a Black man, crawling on the ground, with their metal poles and a yellow hunk of lumber. The beating continues — there’s blood on the pavement. Our photographer, Zach D. Roberts, continues to shoot — even as a white militant raises a 9mm pistol to his face. Zach got a shot of the gun and gunman, too. Luckily, the gunman didn’t shoot back. One photo has gone viral internationally. These others we bring you here because they must be seen. Fearful Villagers See the U.S. Using Afghanistan as a “Playground for Their Weapons” The province of Nangarhar, in eastern Afghanistan, is bearing the brunt of ongoing U.S. airstrikes against the Taliban and fighters who have declared allegiance to the Islamic State. Half of July’s U.S. airstrikes in Afghanistan – at least 358 strikes – took place in eastern Nangarhar, according to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism. And according to United Nations data released last month, U.S. strikes in Nangarhar are more likely to result in civilian casualties than strikes anywhere else the country. On July 23, one of these strikes reportedly killed at least eight civilians, including children, who were attending a funeral, allegations of which the U.S. military is investigating. By Emran Feroz India Celebrates Democracy, Kashmir Cries Hypocrisy India wants to reap the benefits of Islamophobia from which the world is suffering…. the Indian government has to reconcile its own people to body bags coming from Kashmir…. If the Indian people were told the truth that Kashmiris don’t want to be with India, and the struggle here is sustained by them primarily…. the public opinion in India too would change. To not allow the public opinion to change, these lies about Pakistan-sponsored proxy war are told. For us, the Indian media is clearly a part of India’s military industry in Kashmir. by Priti Gulati CoxInfection Spreads With Imperialism/Wars: As Yemen Cholera Cases Reach 500,000, US and UK Condemned for Complicity The epidemic is a “man-made disaster driven by national and international politics,” said Oxfam’s Katy Wright By Jake Johnson Health, Science, Education, and Welfare:
