Quotes of the Day:

. . . Popovich then took a moment to imagine a different kind of leadership.“It’s so clear what needs to be done. We need a president to come out and say simply that black lives matter. Just say those three words. But he won’t, and he can’t. He can’t because it’s more important to him to mollify the small group of followers who validate his insanity. But it’s more than just Trump. The system has to change. I’ll do whatever I can do to help, because that’s what leaders do. But he can’t do anything to put us on a positive path, because he’s not a leader. — Gregg Popovich: ‘The System Has to Change’

The overwhelming majority of the victims of police violence are poor people, unemployed people, members of the so-called underclass, and a high proportion of them were, of course, people of colour.  Black people made up 24 percent of those killed, despite being only 13 percent of the population. And the worst thing of all is the complete impunity with which the police operate. 99 percent of killings by police from 2013-2019 have not resulted in officers being charged with a crime. It is in this context that we must see the present mass uprising – for that is what it is. The murder of George Floyd was the straw that broke the camel’s back. It lit a fuse that sparked off a wave of angry demonstrations all over the country. The accumulated anger of lower-class Americans, ordinarily oppressed Americans, particularly oppressed national and ethnic minorities, spilled onto the streets; despite the fact that America, like other countries, is in a state of lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.  The pandemic has already cost the lives of over 100,000 Americans. A further 42 million are unemployed, as the US economy faces meltdown. And not far beneath the surface of society, there is a seething anger that resembles the searing mass of molten rock that forces its way to the surface of the earth in a volcanic eruption. Thousands upon thousands of people poured onto the streets to express their rage and indignation at the monstrous injustices people have had to suffer silently for generations. — Uprising Shakes the USA: Reaping the Whirlwind

Jaguars Wide Reciever Chris Conley’s SpeechEverywhere is War By Bob Marley

Until the philosophy  Which hold one race superior and another
Inferior  Is finally  And permanently Discredited
And abandoned Everywhere is war
Me say war.     That until there no longer  First class and second class citizens of any nation  Until the color of a man’s skin
Is of no more significance than the color of his eyes
Me say war.  That until the basic human rights Are equally guaranteed to all Without regard to race Dis a war   That until that day
The dream of lasting peace, World citizenship Rule of international morality Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued,
But never attained Now everywhere is war
War  . . . War in the east  War in the west War up north
War down south War war  Rumors of war  . . .   And we know we shall win  As we are confident. In the victory   Of good over evil Good over evil, yeah Good over evilGood over evil, yeah Good over evil

United States:

The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through their ownership of the Reublicrats and who profit from war and the war budget, vote for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a  Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War!  Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! The United States takes from the poor and gives to the Rich.

‘This Is Incredible’: Enormous Crowds Flood Streets Across US Demanding End to Police Brutality and Justice for George Floyd “It feels like it’s more than just a moment. Finally, finally it’s more than just a moment.” Hundreds of thousands of people across the United States—and, in stunning displays of solidarity, around the world—poured into the streets Saturday demanding an end to police brutality and racial injustice in the largest day of demonstrations since the killing of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis officers last week. We Crunched the Numbers: Police — Not Protesters — Are Overwhelmingly Responsible for Attacking Journalists We are witnessing a truly unprecedented attack on press freedom in the United States, with journalists are being systematically targeted while covering the nationwide protests over the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police. The scale of the attacks is so large, it can be hard to fathom. At the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker, a project of Freedom of the Press Foundation and the Committee to Protect Journalists, we catalogued 150 press freedom violations in the United States in all of 2019. We are currently investigating 280 from just the last week. Shadow Government Statistics Alternate Unemployment Charts Unemployment for April 2020 is 35.4%, 39.6%  The seasonally-adjusted SGS Alternate Unemployment Rate reflects current unemployment reporting methodology adjusted for SGS-estimated long-term discouraged workers, who were defined out of official existence in 1994. That estimate is added to the BLS estimate of U-6 unemployment, which includes short-term discouraged workers. The U-3 unemployment rate is the monthly headline number. The U-6 unemployment rate is the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) broadest unemployment measure, including short-term discouraged and other marginally-attached workers as well as those forced to work part-time because they cannot find full-time employment

Wall Street Looters: BlackRock Authored the Bailout Plan Before There Was a Crisis – Now It’s Been Hired by three Central Banks to Implement the Plan It’s called “Going Direct.” That’s the financial bailout plan designed and authored by former central bankers now on the payroll at BlackRock, an  investment manager of $7 trillion in stock and bond funds. The plan was rolled out in August 2019 at the G7 summit of central bankers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming – months before the public was aware of any financial crisis. One month later, on September 17, 2019, the U.S. Federal Reserve would begin an emergency repo loan bailout program, making hundreds of billions of dollars a week in loans by “going direct” to the trading houses on Wall Street.  The BlackRock plan calls for blurring the lines between government fiscal policy and central bank monetary policy – exactly what the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve are doing today in the United States. BlackRock has now been hired by the Federal Reserve, the Bank of Canada, and Sweden’s central bank, Riksbank, to implement key features of the plan. Three of the authors of the BlackRock plan previously worked as central bankers in the U.S., Canada and Switzerland, respectively By Pam Martens and Russ Martens

World:Health, Science, Education, and Welfare:

The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who ‘governn’, pass universal healthcare for themselves, but they cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! This is what is considered, by the powers to be,  a democracy and part of the democratic way. — Roland Sheppard, Let the People  Vote on Healthcare
