Since World War I, ‘the war to end all wars’, there have been perpetual wars for perpetual peace, this Laura Gray’s cartoon from the front page of The Militant August 18, 1945, Under the Banner Headline: “There Is No Peace”There is No Democracy! When Less Than 1% Control the Wealth, Production, and Price of Everything Produced and Consumed in the World!      In the present period of unfettered Capitalism, the pretense of democratic rule does not exist, except in the minds of ‘socialists’ like Bernie Sanders and the Labor Bureaucracy!   Capitalists view all struggles as struggles against capitalist rule! Transition demands immediately become revolutionary demands!    Therefore, any resistence to the attack of capitalists has to be organized by those that understand this!

Today, the United States Capitalists are Consolidating Themselves as the Supreme Capitalists!      Capitalism’s Gluttony is Demonstrated by It’s Quest for More and More Profits at the Expense of Humanity!     The Rise of Capitalism was Under the Banner of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity! Now There is  Less Liberty, More Inequality, and Less Fraternity of Humanity!   Every Day, From Global Warming to Global War There is a New Example of Capitalism in Imperialist Decay!

Capitalism as a Failed  System: World Capitalism Has Been Aware of the Comming Catastrophe of Global Warming  Over 6 Decades Ago and Did Nothing!:  Under Capitalism — Human Lives Don’t Matter  Capitalism Does Not, and Never Has, Worked for the Masses! In Its Death Agony, Capitalism Is Traveling About The World Like The Five Horsemen of the the Apocalypse, Spreading  Racism,  War, Famine, Pestilence, Death, and Misinformation! The very future of Humanity Is Now At stake!

During This Economic Crisis, Capitalism’s Three-Point Political Program: Austerity, Scapegoat Blacks, Minorities, and ‘Illegal’ Immigrants for Unemployment, and The Iron Heel!    For Decades, Blacks Have Been Subjected to The Iron Heel!   Currently, the US Capitalist Class is Divided Over When — Not If, to Apply It to Everyone! Globaly, With the Current Gaza War, The Right of Assembly is Under Attack! Due to Years of Austerity, Cuts to Public Health Care, And An Anti-Science and Profiteering President, The United States Still Leads the World In  Coronavirus Cases and Deaths in the World!

The Iron Heel

The Majority of the World, Despite the Media Monopoly’s Lies, are Opposed to the Palestinian Genocide and Global Warming — The 1% Minority Funds Them! At, this Time in History, Capitalism is Exposing the Fact That it is Opposed to Majority Rule/Democracy!

Always Remember:  That President Obama, With a Majority Democrat Legislature Supported the Wall Street Bailout and Remember, That he Established, in writing,  the United States Capitalist Austerity Program. —  The Race to the Bottom/Pauperization of the 99%!

Democracy?: As the Capitalist Robber Barons Steal from the 99%,  Only the 1% Voted For Austerity!   The 99% Should Decide On Austerity — Not Just The 1%, Who Profit From Austerity!!  Under Austerity, All of the World Will Eventually Be Pauperized, Humbled, and Desecrated Like Greece and Puerto Rico.!   Socialism Means True Democracy, that the 99% Will Rule, Not the Few!

Quotes of the Day:

There are over five million settlers of European origin in South Africa. The Afrikaaner population and those of British descent have lived in South Africa for many generations. Yet very few people, let alone those purporting to be advocates of self-determination for Blacks in South Africa, propose two states – a European white state with guaranteed security alongside a demilitarized African state.     In fact, it is precisely the existence of such an arrangement in the form of the Bantustans in South Africa which has rendered utterly indefensible this cover for the preservation of racist rule.    Similarly, in colonial Algeria and in Northern and Southern Rhodesia, the large European settler populations – many of them descendants of generations of settlers – were not accorded a separate status, let alone a settler state on usurped land of the oppressed.     On the contrary, in South Africa – as in Algeria, Zambia or Zimbabwe – it is understood that self-determination of a colonized people cannot be equated with a settler state. It is sleight of hand to suggest that, having dispossessed the population by force, the settlers now have an equivalent claim to the conquered territory.     If this is universally understood elsewhere, why this indecent exceptionalism when it comes to Israel?     Those who would foist upon the Palestinian people the demand that they recognize an apartheid Israeli state know full well that the national rights of a colonized people do not extend to their colonizers.    In Israel, no less than in South Africa, minimum justice requires dismantling the apartheid state and replacing it with a democratic secular Palestine, where citizenship and rights are not determined by ethnic criteria.     In reality, the supposed supporters of Palestinian human rights who urge acceptance and recognition of the Israeli state are, however disguised, acting as lawyers for the colonial state in Palestine. Their advocacy carries the pseudo-left cover of self-determination for “both” peoples, but this specious employment of the principle of self-determination translates into a covert call for amnesty for Israel. — Chapter 13, A Strategy for Revolution, The Hidden History of Zionism

United States:

The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through their ownership of the Republicrats and who profit from war and the war budget, vote for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a  Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War!  Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! The United States takes from the poor and gives to the Rich. Tax the Rich!  — They Can Afford ford To Pay! Both Parties Support U.S. Capitalism’s Wars! (The Only War the Democrats Opposed was the Civil War!)

We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can’t have both. — Louis D. Brandeis Quotes/

To this day, we have a government and state apparatus that is designed to “protect the minority of the opulent against the majority.” Democracy for white and wealthy men only! — Roland Sheppard, My Forefathers and The 1%’s Forefathers.

‘Two Genocidaires v. the World’: US, Israel Oppose Lifting Cuba Blockade “The world has spoken—it’s time for the U.S. to listen and lift the blockade The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday once again overwhelmingly urged the U.S. government to end its decadeslong blockade on Cuba, with just the United States and Israel voting against the measure and Moldova abstaining.

Halliburton Mediterranean Oil Fields Lie off North Gaza: Israel is Ethnically Cleansing Northern Gaza Having failed to destroy Hamas or return the hostages, it is becoming increasingly clear that Israel’s strategy has changed. The whole population remaining in northern Gaza, some 400,000 men, women and children, are being subjected to a policy of ethnic cleansing.     While indiscriminate bombardment and sniping is being used to terrorise the population southward, the area is being deliberately starved and its medical infrastructure obliterated. The people are being given a choice: flee with nothing, or die.    The fact that Israel has now completed the construction of a road cutting the Gaza strip in half would seem to confirm that this represents the implementation of what is being dubbed the ‘General’s plan’. This plan, which has been studied by Netanyahu, would depopulate northern Gaza in preparation for its colonisation by Jewish settlers.

Why did Israel  Provoke a war with Hamas?  Behind the Current Gaza War the U.S. Oil Profiteers!: 2024Article: Beneath The Bombs: The Struggle For Palestinian Gas Reserves – OpEd The ongoing conflict in Gaza has left a trail of devastation with lives lost, homes destroyed and communities shattered. While the world focuses on the immediate impact of the war, there lies a deeper, less visible struggle—one that involves natural resources and geopolitical interests. Israel’s military aggression against Gaza is not merely about combating Hamas; it is intricately linked to a calculated effort to seize control of Palestinian gas reserves.

Israel’s War on Palestine Israel’s war on Palestine did not begin after Oct. 7, but that day will forever be marked as a bloody turning point in history—not just for Israel and Palestine, but for the world.     Following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks, in which nearly 1,200 Israelis were killed and over 200 hostages captured, Israel’s scorched-earth assault on the Gaza Strip has wreaked a kind of devastation unseen in the 21st century. In the 12 months after Oct. 7—with unconditional political, financial, and military support from the United States—Israel has leveled Gaza and perpetrated a full-blown ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. In what has been referred to as “the most documented genocide in history,” Israel has displaced 90% of the population of the Gaza Strip, killing 41,900 Palestinians and wounding more than 97,300, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry (though research published in the journal Lancet notes that the real death toll is likely much, much higher). This is to say nothing of the violence, death, devastation, and displacement that has resulted over 75 years of Israel’s brutal occupation of historic Palestine and Palestinians’ resistance to the occupation.     Israel’s war on Palestine did not begin after Oct. 7, but that day will forever be marked as a bloody turning point in history—not just for Israel and Palestine, but for the world. From makeshift schools in Gaza’s refugee camps to neighborhoods in the West Bank raided by the IDF; from professional athletes protesting Israel’s genocidal war on Palestinians to mass marches for a ceasefire in Washington, DC; from students and labor unions fighting to disrupt the war machine to anti-Zionist Jews fighting to end the occupation; from Israel’s invasion of Lebanon to corporate media’s role in laundering and perpetuating the politics of genocide; you will find compiled on this page a living archive of all the original coverage TRNN has published since October 2023 related to Israel, Palestine, and anti-war and Palestine solidarity movements around the world.

Capitalists Spend $Trillion to Continue Global Warming! Report Details Record-Breaking Health Threats of Climate Crisis, Fossil Fuel Subsidies “No individual or economy on the planet is immune from the health threats of climate change,” said a lead researcher. “We must cure the sickness of climate inaction—by slashing emissions, protecting people from climate extremes, and ending our fossil fuel addiction.” Over $1 trillion spent each year on subsidizing fossil fuel production must be redirected to public health efforts, said the experts behind a new annual report monitoring progress on the climate and global health.

‘This Is Climate Change’: Devastating Flooding Kills More Than 70 in Spain “These disasters are only getting worse, and stopping the industries and systems driving climate collapse is the only rational response,” one climate group said. Spain’s deadliest flooding in 30 years killed at least 72 people as torrential rain slammed the eastern region of Valencia on Tuesday, with some towns recording a year’s worth of rain in a single day.

They Got 60 Days in Jail for Protesting Israel’s Largest Arms Maker — and Say That’s a “Huge Victory” After trying to block production at an Elbit factory in New Hampshire, the Palestine solidarity activists are calling for more, better direct action. In Mid-November, four young women will start two-month jail sentences for an action attempting to halt operations last November at a weapons factory in Merrimack, New Hampshire, operated by Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest arms manufacturer.    It could have been far worse for the Merrimack 4, as the women are called by fellow activists. New Hampshire prosecutors had originally charged them with multiple felonies carrying sentences up to 37 years — an extreme overreach given that the defendants were alleged to have engaged in trespass and minor property damage at the facility.

BRICS Summit: A Step Closer to a Different World Cuba and Bolivia are among the 13 new members of the economic bloc “The BRICS have emerged as a fundamental actor of growing relevance, authority and leadership in the global geopolitical scenario and a real hope for the countries of the South in their complex path towards the achievement of a more just, democratic, equitable and sustainable international order.”    This was stated by the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, while speaking at the recently concluded 16th Summit of that alternative bloc, in the Russian city of Kazan.    He emphasized the Group’s contribution to the change in the financial architecture, with a New Development Bank that makes these resources available under more favorable conditions. He also highlighted the role in the reduction of monetary imbalances and the counterweight to the U.S. dollar, used as an instrument of pressure.    Rodríguez Parrilla pointed out the coincidence between Cuba’s points and the Final Declaration: “We are pleased to see that the BRICS have among their priorities the confrontation of the current world food and energy crisis, with very positive experiences, the results of which have been validated in many of its member states.”

New York Fed Report: 27 Percent of Bank Capital Is “Extend and Pretend” Commercial Real Estate Loans The New York Fed, long the quintessential keeper of secrets for the Wall Street megabanks that it has been bailing out since the financial crisis of 2008, has suddenly decided to come clean on a big threat to capital at these and other banks.    The New York Fed has created gasps in the corridors of power in the banking world by releasing a paper that documents how banks have ginned up their capital by “extending and pretending” on their underwater commercial real estate (CRE) loans.     The new paper was written by Matteo Crosignani, Financial Research Advisor at the New York Fed, and Saketh Prazad, a former Research Analyst at the New York Fed who is now a Doctoral Student in the Business Economics program at the Harvard Business School.

World:This Halloween: A Spectre is Haunting Capitalism As Halloween approaches, a spectre is haunting Westminster – the spectre of economic instability, political chaos, and class struggle. But all of these horrors are hammering consciousness into shape: capitalism is producing its own gravediggers.    As this year’s Halloween approaches, a spectre is haunting Westminster – the spectre of economic instability, political chaos, and class struggle.     British capitalism is in a dire state. Starmer and co. say that they have inherited a mess from their Tory predecessors: a national debt of over 100 percent of GDP; a fiscal “black hole” of £22 billion, or even more; public services that are creaking and crumbling after years of austerity and neglect. And the picture only gets gloomier by the day.    Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ first Budget, due to be announced on 30 October, is therefore set to contain a variety of accounting tricks to make the numbers add up, but with no treats for the working class

Health, Education, and Welfare:

The Cost Of Corporate Profit in U.S. Health Care Reaches $2 Trillion As has long been the case, the U.S. health care system is by far the world’s most expensive while providing the worst results among the world’s advanced capitalist countries. And that expense continues to get larger and more unaffordable.     Just how large is the cost of private profit in health care?    Almost two trillion dollars! Unbelievable? It certainly seems so. But that is indeed how much more money the people of the United States spent on health care in 2022 than they would otherwise have spent if the U.S. had a single-payer system.     This is the direct result of a health care system that is designed to extract maximum profits rather than deliver health care.     A system unique in the world in the extent that corporations such as insurance and pharmaceutical companies are allowed to play such a large role.    Health care spending in the U.S. is so extreme that the spending by the U.S. government alone is higher than total spending (as a percentage of gross domestic product) by any other country.      Incredibly, the government was banned from negotiating drug prices until the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 was signed into law, but only some drug prices in some programs can be negotiated, an incredible windfall for Big Pharma.     Spending on health care in the U.S. in 2022 reached 16.6 percent of the country’s GDP with government spending alone accounting for 14 percent of GDP. The country with the next highest total, Germany, saw total health care spending account for 12.7 percent of its GDP.
