Quotes of the Day:
In his seminal work “Animal Farm,” George Orwell astutely observed, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” This aphorism resonates powerfully in the contemporary international order, where the preeminence of power frequently overrides human rights, international regimes, conventions, the United Nations Charter, and even the consensus of non-aligned nations. This manifestation of force not only disregards international norms but also endeavors to suspend them, positioning itself as the legislator and enforcer of a new order imposed upon other global actors. This phenomenon is increasingly intertwined with U.S. influence, resulting in proxy wars, territorial expansions, or targeted genocide and legalized apartheid devoid of any sense of shame or constraint. — The Same White Nationalism that Genocided the American Indians is at Work in Eradicating Palestinians
FYI: General Dwight D. Eisenhower was Opposed to the Genocide on Hiroshima During World War II!: General Dwight D. Eisenhower, commander of allied forces in Europe and later president of the U.S., also called it “completely unnecessary” and later told an interviewer,” It wasn’t necessary to hit them with that awful thing.” Fleet Admiral William Leahy, the president’s chief of staff, believed that Japan would fall without the necessity of a land invasion. Leahy later wrote that, in dropping the bomb, “we had adopted an ethical standard common to barbarians of the dark ages.” (Eisenhower and Leahy quotes found at: HIROSHIMAWHO DISAGREED WITH THE ATOMIC BOMBING?Why they did it.)
CENSORSHIP from SHEREPOST The Article Fails to even once mention that the Socialist Workers Party. United States:
The United States is not a Democracy (A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly)! Only the 1%, through their ownership of the Republicrats and who profit from war and the war budget, vote for War and the war budget — A policy, which Gore Vidal called a Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. — The 99% Should Decide On War — Not Just The 1% Who Profit From War! Under a Democracy, The 99% would have the right to vote on the policy of Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace! The United States takes from the poor and gives to the Rich. Tax the Rich! — They Can Afford ford To Pay! Both Parties Support U.S. Capitalism’s Wars! (The Only War the Democrats Opposed was the Civil War!)
We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can’t have both. — Louis D. Brandeis Quotes/

To this day, we have a government and state apparatus that is designed to “protect the minority of the opulent against the majority.” Democracy for white and wealthy men only! — Roland Sheppard, My Forefathers and The 1%’s Forefathers.
Freedom Cannot Exist on a Stolenland: The United States’ ‘Independence’ is Masked in Genocide and Imperialism While many people across the United States are off enjoying this 4th of July weekend, this American holiday serves as a painful reminder of this country’s violent history which many are still unaware of and which continues to be felt today, across this stolen land. Independence Day, a United States federal holiday, commemorates the day the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4, 1776. While the United States and its settlers claimed its independence from Great Britain, this came at a cost of others, including this land’s Indigenous Peoples and Africans that were stolen from their own homelands and forced into slavery. This patriotic holiday is nothing to celebrate, because freedom cannot come at the cost of another’s freedom, especially on stolen land, amongst stolen Peoples. America’s Independence Day is a celebration of imperialism, genocide, and American exceptionalism, and there is no pride in genocide. This country must take accountability for its violence, and it is our collective responsibility to learn decolonized history, uplift suppressed histories, and make others aware of the United States’ painful past. With the acknowledgment of the truth, it opens a door for justice, accountability, and healing which can further affirm others’ rights and freedoms to be respected and upheld. Freedom cannot exist on stolen land, especially where the theft of lands continues centuries later, as seen with the recent example of the Mashpee Wampanoag, where Trump ordered 321 acres of land out of federal trust in 2020. While this decision has since been overturned, the fact that Indigenous lands are still being removed from Indigenous hands illuminates the truth that this country’s foundation is built on stolen land, and to maintain that foundation, this cycle of violence and theft must continue. A part of this foundation includes racist text within the Declaration of Independence itself. In the list of grievances in the Declaration, it is shared why settlers needed to separate from Great Britain and establish its own nation, “He has excited domestic Insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the Inhabitants of our Frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known Rule of Warfare, is an undistinguished Destruction, of all Ages, Sexes and Conditions.” In an NPR interview, David Treuer (Leech Lake Ojibwe) shares, “You can’t understand our Declaration of Independence without having a modicum of understanding of critical race theory because this country was founded on two principles. One was the theft of Indian land, and the other was the theft of Black labor in the form of slavery. And that is fundamental. Those two thefts were coded racially, and there’s no getting around that.” The reference of Native people as savages in the Declaration of Independence has created a culture and practice of dehumanization against Indigenous Peoples which has led to stolen land, rights violations, and genocide.
How to Change Everything An interview with The Ink, about where we are, how we got here and where we need to go. George Monbiot, interviewed by The Ink, 9th July 2024 TI: Can you walk us through how you define neoliberalism” — the “Invisible Doctrine” of the book’s title. And of “capitalism,” for that matter? GM: Let’s start with capitalism. It’s often portrayed as if it were some kind of natural law, a basic property of human relations. It is nothing of the kind. Capitalism is a very particular form of economic organisation, which, following the work of the geographer Jason Moore, we date to the island of Madeira in roughly 1450. This was arguably the first time and place in which land, labour and money were simultaneously commodified. The success of the Portuguese colonists, the first capitalists, set in train a particular mode of extreme and rapid exploitation, which led simultaneously to the explosion of colonial seizure and to the cascading collapse of ecosystems. We define capitalism as follows: “Capitalism is an economic system founded on colonial looting. It operates on a constantly shifting and self-consuming frontier, on which both state and powerful private interests use their laws, backed by the threat of violence, to turn shared resources into exclusive property, and to transform natural wealth, labour and money into commodities that can be accumulated.”
“Bad On Foreign Policy But Good On Domestic Policy” Is Just American Supremacist Psychopathy Saying a US politician is “bad on foreign policy but good on domestic policy” is like saying “Sure my husband spends his weekends murdering hitchhikers, but he’s a good provider and he knows how to fix a flat tire.”
US Funded Palestinian Genocide:
The UK Labour Party drops opposition to Int’l Criminal Court Warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant over Gaza War Crimes The Labour Party in Britain announced that it would not submit a brief to the International Criminal Court arguing that the court has no jurisdiction over Israeli actions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The previous Conservative government of Rishi Sunak had pledged to make such a submission, but the new prime minister Keir Starmer has, after some waffling, decided against it.

NYC Protesters Target AIG Over East African Crude Oil Pipeline “We will continue to stand in solidarity and fight together with our African comrades to stop EACOP, to stop the plunder of our homelands, to stop the displacement of our peoples, and to stop imperialist climate destruction.” The “Summer of Heat” continues—both in terms of record-breaking temperatures driven by fossil fuels and a series of nonviolent direct actions targeting Wall Street for its contributions to the climate emergency. After protests last month calling out Citibank for “financing the arsonists,” climate campaigners on Friday set their sights on finance and insurance giant AIG for “stubbornly” refusing to join over two dozen other insurers that won’t cover the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).
Pennsylvania Oil Companies Quietly Dumped Toxic Wastewater Across the State Spreading fracking wastewater on roads is banned. Oil and gas companies found a loophole to do it anyway. Siri Lawson and her husband live on a stamp of wooded, hilly land in Warren County, Pennsylvania, nestled in the state’s rural northwest corner. During the summer heat, cars traveling on the county’s dirt roads cast plumes of dust in their wake. Winter’s chill can cause a hazardous film of ice to spawn on paved roads. To protect motorists from both slippery ice and vision-impairing dust, communities across Pennsylvania coat these roads with large, cheap volumes of de-icing and dust-suppressing fluids. In Lawson’s case, her township had been using oil and gas wastewater as a dust suppressant, believing the material was effective. But researchers have found it is no better at controlling dust than rainwater. It can also contain toxic chemicals and have radioactive concentrations several hundred times the acceptable federal limit in drinking water. Given the risks it poses to human health and the environment, Pennsylvania lawmakers and the state’s environmental agency disallowed this practice more than seven years ago.

The New York Fed Has Contracted Out Key Functions to JPMorgan Chase; We Filed a FOIA and Got These Strange Invoices The New York Fed, which has bank examiners engaged in supervising JPMorgan Chase, has also repeatedly provided bailout funds to JPMorgan Chase; was supervising JPMorgan Chase when it lost $6.2 billion of deposits from its federally-insured bank by gambling in derivatives on its London trading desk; allowed JPMorgan Chase’s Chairman and CEO, Jamie Dimon, to previously sit on the New York Fed’s Board of Directors, even as he faced the $6.2 billion derivatives trading scandal; and the New York Fed has exclusively used JPMorgan Chase to hold, as custodian, more than $2.3 trillion of the Federal Reserve’s Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) for the past 15-1/2 years – despite JPMorgan Chase admitting to five felony counts brought by the criminal division of the U.S. Department of Justice during that time.

Labour’s Economic Policy “After 14 years, Britain has a stable government – a government that respects business, wants to partner with business and is open for business,” Rachel Reeves Broken Britain
- British imperialism has been in steady decline since the end of WW1, giving way to US imperialism as the hegemonic power. And after WW2, the UK increasingly became a subservient ‘junior partner’ to America. The relative decline in the UK economy is revealed by its long-term fall in productivity growth compared to other imperialist economies.
- Particularly after the Great Recession, and after the decision to leave the EU and after the COVID pandemic, the British economy went into a downward spiral that so far it has not been able to stop. Real GDP growth is still more than 20% below its pre-2008

A Belly Laugh About the Homeless If they can’t sleep inside because they’re homeless, and now the Supreme Court forbids them to sleep outside, then where in the world can they sleep? The homeless problem in America is not funny. It’s serious and apparently growing. It helps little to call people “unhoused” instead of homeless. Under either name, they’re still on the street and need shelter. But I got a belly laugh recently when it was announced that the reactionary U.S. Supreme Court has solemnly ruled that homeless people could not sleep outside. That struck me as funny. If they can’t sleep inside because they’re homeless, and now the Supreme Court forbids them to sleep outside, then where in the world can they sleep? People have to be somewhere, either inside or outside. Then I realized it’s not a laughing matter after all. Because of the Supreme Court’s decision, officials in California, Oregon, and several Western states are now moving quickly to force people off the streets and into city shelters. If they don’t have a place to sleep, they have decreed, they must be rounded up like sheep and put into official sheepfolds.
Real Estate Software Aided Price-Fixing “Cartel” Among US Property Companies The ultimate outcomes of recent lawsuits may have a precedent-setting impact amid the US’s affordable housing crisis. The rent is, infamously, too damn high. That refrain has such staying power because the United States’s noxious rent crisis has shown no signs of abating, with rents rising over 30 percent since 2019. All manner of ill effects have resulted; the rapid simultaneous growth of the homelessness crisis is no coincidence.
