Hegseth’s prayer services at the Pentagon are a sign the guard rails are shrinking. On March 25, he prayed for “overwhelming violence” using carefully selected passages from the Bible to justify an unjust war. Head bowed, Hegseth intoned: “Pour out your wrath upon those who plot vain things and blow them away like chaff before the wind…. Let every round find its mark against the enemies of righteousness and our great nation…. Let justice be executed swiftly and without remorse so that evil may be driven back.” The prayer prompted a rebuttal from Pope Leo XIV, who wrote on social media that Jesus “does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war.” But such a rebuke is not likely to satisfy the warmongers in the U.S. government, making AU’s lawsuit over these Christian nationalist services even more urgent. — Christian Nationalists in US Government Push Attacks on Iran as Holy War

She was told that a court order had demanded he be taken to hospital. Her response was blunt and chilling: “Leave it, there are orders from above [meaning military intelligence]… let him die.”

A few weeks ago in Honduras, people were in tears as they applauded and thanked Cuban doctors for their years of service, particularly in providing free eye surgeries. If this is clearly contrary to the interests of people, why are all Cuban doctors, nurses, biomedical engineers, and technicians leaving? They are not leaving because these countries want them to, but because the United States is forcing them to.

ALMOST 750 U.S. troops have been wounded or killed in the Middle East since October 2023, an analysis by The Intercept has found. But the Pentagon won’t acknowledge it. U.S. Central Command, or CENTCOM, which oversees military operations in the Middle East, appears to be engaged in what a defense official called a “casualty cover-up,” offering The Intercept low-ball and outdated figures and failing to provide clarifications on military deaths and injuries.

In 2007, the Coalition won its lawsuit against New York City’s spraying of Malathion to kill mosquitoes said to be the carriers of West Nile Virus. The City had applied massive doses of the pesticide.The settlement agreement raised the issue and stipulated a program limiting the dangers of glyphosate, which led to new regulations limiting the application of such chemicals in the environment. And last month the grassroots healthy alternatives-to-pesticides coalition joined with GMO/Toxin Free USA, which authored the petition below; Beyond Pesticides; Organic Consumers Association; Greenpeace; Environmental Working Group; Center for Biological Diversity; and a slew of environmental and health organizations which have been fighting against the production and use of glyphosate for decades.
