Cuba May Save the World From Covid Pandemic!   Cuba Accelerates Vaccine Drive  Cuba Accelerates Vaccine Drive  “Cuba has developed different RBD-based public vaccines, the most administered worldwide (protein-based), and among them the only SARS-CoV-2 conjugate-vaccine (RBD-TT), designed especially for children.” — Tweet by Fabrizio Chiodo, Italian scientist working with Cuba’s Finlay Institute.[1]    Following clinical trials carried out over the summer, on 3 September 2021, Cuba’s national medical regulatory body (CEMED) authorised emergency use of the Finlay Institute’s Soberana vaccines for children from two to 18 years old.[2]Cuba has now become the first country in the world to roll out Covid-19 vaccines for children as young as two, and is among the few countries worldwide to be vaccinating under 12-year-olds. The clinical trials showed: ‘After two doses of Soberana02, 99.3% of 3-11 year-old children and 92.9% of 12-18 year-old children had an antibody response that was 4 times the pre-vaccination level’ – a superior response to that of adults.[3]    Unlike Pfizer and Moderna, whose Covid-19 vaccines are based on new (mRNA) technology, all of Cuba’s five domestically produced vaccines are based on technology that has been used with children for decades. Back in 1988, Cuba’s Finlay Institute developed the world’s first Meningitis B vaccine, after an epidemic which particularly affected children. Soberana 2 increases immunogenicity and induces immunological memory. Children are being given two doses of Soberana 2 and a third of Soberana Plus at 28-day intervals. Cuban schools will not reopen until children have been vaccinated. By mid-September, 460,000 Cuban children and adolescents (20%) had received a first dose.

“We believe our federal agencies have the power to stop companies from introducing highly toxic and radioactive material into our drinking water systems,” stated Gillian Graber of Protect PT (Penn-Trafford), a community organization in southwestern PA. “The EPA has a mandate to ensure all Americans have clean air, land, and water. They need to act now to prevent more tragic consequences from fracking in our communities.” “The rapid expansion of fracking coincides with a worrisome spike of rare childhood cancers, including dozens of cases of Ewing sarcoma, a rare and devastating bone cancer in children in southwestern Pennsylvania,” stated Dr. Ned Ketyer, President of Physicians for Social Responsibility Pennsylvania. “Doctors and parents are concerned that fracking pollution and radioactive, chemical-laden waste may be to blame. An extensive body of evidence now points to the realization that fracking cannot operate safely anywhere.”  The letter states that “produced” waste from oil and gas operations contains toxic metals and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) such as arsenic, barium, hydrogen sulfide and benzene, which return in the waste stream. — 65+ Groups Ask Biden Administration To Reclassify Oil & Gas Drilling Waste As ‘Hazardous’ To Prevent Road Dumping Of Wastewater And Other Practices

After the United Sates Emerged From WWII as the World’s Supreme Imperialist Power, the Department of War  Became the Department of Defense of the United States Imperialist Power:  The War Department existed from August 7, 1789[1] until September 18, 1947, when it split into the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force and joined the Department of the Navy as part of the new joint National Military Establishment (NME), renamed the United States Department of Defense in 1949. — United States Department of War
Stop Calling the Military Budget a ‘Defense’ Budget  In the real world, the United States spends more money on its military than the next 10 countries all together. And most of those countries are military allies. To call the Pentagon’s massive and escalating budget a “defense” budget is nothing less than internalized corruption of language that undermines our capacities to think clearly and talk.

As global meat and dairy companies have come under increasing scrutiny for their contributions to the climate crisis, net zero accounting has been a corporate lifesaver. Meat and dairy giants such as JBS, Tyson, Danish Crown, Nestle, Danone, Arla and Fonterra have all announced net-zero targets. Yet, in our examining of company documents, reports and projections, none of the major meat and dairy companies planned on reducing the number of animals in their supply chain, the source of 90% of their emissions. On the contrary, most have plans to significantly expand production and market share. For example, Tyson expects annual growth of 3-4 percent from beef and poultry sales, while Marfrig targeted 7.5–9.5 percent annual growth for 2015–2018. This target was set prior to the company’s acquisition of U.S.—based National Beef, making it the second largest beef processor in the world. Danish dairy giant Arla planned to add 2 billion kg of milk to its European supply chain between 2015–2020—a 14 percent increase. Fonterra projected a stunning 40 percent increase in its processed milk volume for 2015–2025. — Beware Big Ag’s Sleight of Hand on ‘Net Zero’

Labor:
World-Wide, the Labor Bureaucracy. Acta As a Fifth Column,  For the Capitalist Class, Within the Working Class!
The Labour Party conference has ended. It is likely to be regarded as a defining moment for the party. The right wing is clearly cock-a-hoop with the result. The left, meanwhile, despite winning some votes, are very much on the retreat. In many ways, this conference marks the end of Corbynism.     Together with the right wing, Labour leader Keir Starmer came to the conference with one thing in mind: to introduce rule changes that would prevent the left from ever taking control of the party again.     The Corbyn years were a shock to the ruling class and their right-wing agents. As far as they are concerned, this is an experience that must never be repeated.     The right wing worked for five years under Corbyn to destroy him. This Fifth Column inside Labour deliberately weaponised antisemitism to attack and silence the left, and then finally to suspend Jeremy Corbyn. It was a genuine conspiracy to take back the Labour Party on behalf of big business. — Britain: after Labour Conference – Where Next?

Rather, it is best viewed as a running estimate of real GDP growth based on available economic data for the current measured quarter….”World:
China at a Turning Point? The debt problems afflicting China’s real estate market deepened this week after another property developer defaulted on its bonds and the world’s most heavily indebted property group Evergrande extended a suspension of its shares into a second day without explanation. Fantasia Holdings, a mid-sized developer, that just weeks ago assured investors it had “no liquidity issue”, said in a stock exchange filing that it “did not make the payment” on Monday of a $206m bond maturing that day, triggering a formal default. The default adds to fears that a crisis at Evergrande will spread to include more of China’s property developers, which account for a large portion of the Asian high-yield bond market. Evergrande missed an interest payment on an offshore bond on September 23, triggering a 30-day grace period before a formal default, and has yet to provide any announcement on the matter.  But even before China Evergrande Group’s debt crisis sent the country’s property sector into a tailspin, Chinese property firms were struggling to earn enough to make interest payments on their debt.  AAt the end of June, the aggregate interest coverage ratio of 21 big Hong Kong-listed Chinese real estate developers fell to 0.94, the worst in at least a decade, according to Reuters calculations based on Refinitiv data.   In other words, China’s private property sector are now composed of ‘zombie’ companies just like 15-20% of companies in the major capitalist economies.  The question now is whether the Chinese authorities are going to allow these firms to go bust.  Shares in Huarong, China’s biggest bad debt manager, were suspended for months earlier this year after the company delayed its financial reports before finally unveiling a record loss in August. The delays sparked a debate over the extent to which Beijing will step in to help distressed companies.Health, Education, and Welfare:
The government of the United States can pass laws in a few days to spend tens of trillions of dollars for war and the bailout of Wall Street and the bankers. Yet, those who pass universal healthcare for themselves, but cannot spend even one trillion dollars for universal health for those who are ‘governed’! This is what is considered, by the powers to be,  a democracy and part of the democratic way. — Roland Sheppard, Let the People  Vote on Healthcare!
