Two Poems for Our Time One from the ruins of World War I, the other from the gathering storm of World War II Today I’m again sharing two poems with you. The first was written in the ruins of World War I; the second, in the gathering storm of World War II. To me, both feel appropriate to the dark time we’re now living through, which is why I am sharing them with you again.

While much of the TRU’s recent increase only serves to reverse hints of potential improvement seen at the beginning of the year, the overall change in labor force participation—as reflected in LISEP’s TRU Out of the Population (TRU OOP) metric—paints a more concerning picture. The TRU OOP—an estimate of the percentage of the working-age population who is not functionally employed, including those who have dropped out of the labor force—also increased 0.2 percentage points in July, and has risen every month since March. It is now up 0.8 percentage points since the start of the year. In short, not only are fewer workers employed in full-time jobs paying above the poverty level, but the economy’s ability to pull workers into the labor force may be weakening as well. So what do these trends mean? Once again, we shouldn’t read too much into a single month—but four months begin to tell a story. Functional unemployment moving higher while workforce participation is moving lower could suggest the labor market is losing strength despite what we may see in the headline unemployment numbers, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics actually reporting a 0.2 percentage point improvement in the jobless rate, from 4.3% to 4.1%. Banderites are devoted to the independence of Ukraine, a single-party fascist totalitarian state free of national minorities. The goal of Banderites is to establish an independent and “ethnically pure Ukrainian state.” Annually thousands of Ukrainians fill the streets in a torch light parade on January 1st to celebrate the birthday of Bandera. There are also 100 streets named after and statues honoring Ukrainian’s Nazi heroes. Banderite Nazis in Zelensky’s government include: Serhiy Pashynskyi, Chairman of the Committee on National Security & Defense Council, the state agency that develops and coordinates policy of national security on domestic and international matters in advising President Zelensky. Dmytro Yarosh, Advisor to the Armed Forces of Ukraine Commander-In-Chief, President Zelensky. Finally prior to Russia entering the Donbass Western Media repeatedly reported on the Ukrainian Nazi Movement, that has Nazi Youth Camps, an international PR representative, and Nazi vigilantes who work directly with the police to arrest those suspected of being disloyal. The day after Russia moved troops into the Donbass, the Western Media magically transformed Ukraine’s Banderite Nazis into nationalists. BTW Hitler was also a nationalist.)
