Trump’s Depraved Indifference Prioities: “In the United States, we are letting Americans go with a shortage of water for weeks while [Trump] spends billions of dollars on his vanity projects.” — Puerto Rico Water Crisis
In particular Baldwin reveals the lie at the base of the American Myth promoted by those who benefit to the harm of those who provide the fodder: “It is, of course, in the very nature of a myth that those who are its victims and, at the same time, its perpetrators, should, by virtue of these two facts, be rendered unable to examine the myth, or even to suspect, much less recognize, that it is a myth which controls and blasts their lives. One sees this, it seems to me, in great and grim relief, in the situation of the poor white in the Deep South. The poor white was enslaved almost from the instant he arrived on these shores, and he is still enslaved by a brutal and cynical oligarchy. The utility of the poor white was to make slavery both profitable and safe and, therefore, the germ of white supremacy which he brought with him from Europe was made hideously to flourish in the American air. Two world wars and a world-wide depression. have failed to reveal to this poor man that he has far more in common with the ex-slaves whom he fears than he has with the masters who oppress them both for profit.” — On the American Myth: Thanks, James Baldwin

US trial could reveal who paid hackers to target Exxon climate critics: ‘on the edge of our seats’ Oil giant has denied involvement, but climate activists are closely watching court case against Israeli private investigator for answers Agroup of American climate activists are closely watching a US court case that could reveal who hired hackers to target their inboxes a decade ago. In 2015, a set of explosive media reports revealed that ExxonMobil’s own scientists determined as early as 1982 that the extraction and burning of fossil fuels caused the climate crisis – but Exxon went on to fund climate denial campaigns anyway. The reports prompted attorneys general to investigate the company. In 2016, as a group of climate activists sought to hold Exxon accountable for climate deception, they found themselves targeted by a wave of phishing emails. Kert Davies, the founder of the Climate Investigations Center, a group that monitors the fossil fuel industry, received more than 80 phishing emails, including one pretending to be his colleague sharing a Dropbox document titled “ExxonMobil (confidential).docx”. A Department of Justice investigation eventually confirmed the successful hacking of more than 100 victims, including the group of Exxon critics.
Climate Change? The Oil Industry Knew! Defense, Denial, and Disinformation: Uncovering the Oil Industry’s Early Knowledge of Climate Change A Sane Society World Hold the Oil Companies Accountable for Their Crimes!

As early as 1959, oil industry executives understood the connection between burning fossil fuels and climate change. Soon thereafter, industry scientists confirmed beyond a reasonable doubt that the burning of fossil fuels contributed to anthropogenic climate change. In response, oil companies scrambled to promulgate climate change denial and disinformation in order to avoid government regulation. It was not until the late 1990s and early 2000s that oil companies began publicly acknowledging the scientific consensus on climate change and responded by promoting market-based solutions to mitigating emissions. Did they inform the public about the danger! As the World Warmed, rhey just went on producing their hazardous product! To them profits were more important than life! Their ecocidal decision is a criminal act against humanity and all life on the planet! ‘Law and Order’ capitalism protects them!

Largest Gathering of Service Members for Anti-War Protest Since Vietnam On July 4, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, more than 500 veterans and military families gathered in the birthplace of the nation to reject what they called the Trump administration’s fascist vision for the country’s future (including domestic troop deployments and endless war). The coalition—About Face, 50501 Vets, Veterans For Peace, Common Defense, Military Families Speak Out, Fayetteville Resistance Coalition, and CCW—marched under the banner Freedom Over Fascism.
Iran War Profiteers: Iran Accuses Kushner, Witkoff of Pursuing Profits Over Peace in Diplomatic TalksIranian officials reportedly warned US Vice President JD Vance late last month that two officials leading the Trump administration’s diplomatic efforts in the Middle East—special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner—were trying to profit from their proximity to critical negotiations rather than working to secure a lasting peace agreement. According to Drop Site, which cited an unnamed Iranian official, “Iran conveyed to Vance that the pair were more interested in exploiting insider knowledge of the negotiations to profit in financial markets than they were in reaching a deal.” The Iranian side also “expressed concern about repeated leaks from Kushner to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”
No, Israel Does Not Have ‘A Right To Exist’ Quite the contrary, actually. Unlike the Zionist claim that “Israel has a right to exist,” my assertion is rooted in international law. Of course, given Israel’s propensity for violating such laws, it’s no surprise they’re still claiming a right that has no basis in reality. News that, in the midst of the genocide in Palestine, the German parliament was this week advancing legislation that would criminalize speech that denies that Israel has a “right to exist,” with penalties of up to five years in prison, came as a surprise to virtually no one. This is, after all, the same Germany that perpetrated genocide first in Namibia and then in Europe, and is now actively and enthusiastically participating in the ongoing genocide in Palestine while brutally repressing all who dare speak out against it inside Germany.

Has Palestine Already Won the World Cup?The Palestinian national soccer team isn’t playing in this year’s World Cup. But despite a national and global crackdown on pro-Palestinian protest and speech, the games have witnessed an outpouring of support for Palestinians. Fans, players, and coaches from the likes of Egypt, Scotland, Brazil, South Korea, Morocco, Mexico, Turkey, Norway, Senegal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, Spain, and perhaps all 48 countries playing have publicly shown support for Palestinian lives and their struggle for freedom and a return to lands taken since 1948.
